Some teachers are very stressed and you can tell when they interact with the students. There are student arguments and bullying and it could be handled differently. I have 2 kids who attend this school and 1 is struggling w/ math and there is no help available but if she was a non- English,speaker, they'd drop everything to help her. There is not adequate space for the children to run as it's been taken up but solar panels in half of the grass area. There is an empty field behind the school they could of used to expand playing field area, as this school caters to the unincorporated and some city area kids. I do feel it is a safe school. You can't just walk around staff supervise it very well. Its located in the far back of a busy street. A lot of parents park illegally after school and seed in the morning if they are running late so if your kids walk then they have to leave early enough to beat the bad driver I've almost been hit 2 times in the cross walk with kids

Wow I'm glad to know that I'm not alone about my feelings with this principle, maybe the bullying problem is swept under the rug because she is one, there is something definitely going on here that is not right.I don't think this principle has ever taken a parenting class because she does not know how to relate to children at all! I have never been to a school where I did not feel welcome to come and eat lunch with my child. I brought a younger sibling to eat with my kindergartner, to find out why she wasn't eating and the principle told me next time don't bring the three year old. I am now looking for other options for her schooling.

For the most part the teachers here are good, but the principle makes it very difficult for everyone. She cares nothing about the kids,and only worries about how SHE is viewed to the school board. There are severe bullying problems and she tries very hard to sweep them under the rug and refuses to admit to any problems because then she would have face being put in a negative light. When confronted about problems with bullying she attempts to lay blame on the children being victimized. Until this principle is removed from the system completely I highly recommend pursuing enrollment in another school. One star for the teachers, who do care, but negative 4 for the self-serving principle.

I have been very happy with Taylor Mountain. Their Common Dress Policy has really made a difference, great teachers and staff, my daughter looks forward to and is proud of going to Taylor Mountain.
