Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

Can't Judge its book by its cover." I think it can go both ways. Regarding Roseland Creek Elementary school. Just because it is, a beautiful big campus does not mean it has the greatest teachers in the school. Fourth graders and fifth graders need a lot of work in that school. They need more intervention with students who only speak English at home. They need to help more on their Math skills. Just because you have a degree in teaching and you do not love to teach or if you do not have the desire to want students to succeed that means you should not be teaching. I think teachers should also be graded on how their students are doing. If their student is not succeeding that means there not doing their job. I know teachers have a lot to do but I think if your students are not pre-paired in elementary school to move on to Jr. High or high school They will struggle. This school promotes college a-lot, but are they really pre -paring them for Jr. High and high school. Grammar school is one the most important school for your child. It's were they learn the most. Grade your teachers on how the student's are doing .Promote the teachers who have success.

This school needs help. One of the office lady was saying rude things about me like I could not hear her then was nice to my face. Vice principal wanted to have a conference with me and didn't follow through. Also both my kids teachers this year were bad. My son learned almost nothing and when I asked the teacher how he was doing she said great, then I asked why he is having trouble in certain areas she replied, oh. Then my daughters teacher was constantly side tracked to something else. Both very undereducated if you ask me. My sons teacher lost my sons book order and never got back to me until the last day, saying she could refund my money. Also I try to donate time and money into this school and it seems like I am the only one. I turned in label for education a couple of times and still did not see the progress online and when I asked the office they said they didn't know what that is! People can come and go as they please- there is no safety. Over all I think they are focused on having fun and do not seem to mind that students are doing bad. They need help.

There are many programs during and after school to help ESL students learn English. Americorps runs two excellent programs there: Project Scholars (one on one tutoring for grades 1-3 to assist students falling behind in reading and writing) and Cool School (an afterschool program that incorporates all disciplines, feild trips, recess, snack, and hw time). Once a week the school has a musical visitor. The community helps out a lot whenever they can through parent volunteering and donations of food, supplies, or money from local businesses. The staff are all kind and intelligent people.
