I love Sheppard!! There is such a sense of community here. I dont see issues with bullying like in other schools. The students are taught very good values and my daughter is learning math and english incredibly fast. Her spanish has also improved a great deal. Sooo love Sheppard.
I really like Sheppard however it is not a diverse school, as far as student population. My daughter is the only causasian in her class every other student is latino. However, I find that the curriculum is challenging. My daughter loves her teacher and classmates, she was welcomed with open arms as a new student mid way through the school year, and is even picking up on some Spanish, we couldnt be happier with Sheppard. She is learning a new culture and that could only be empowering as we, her parents see it!
I would disagree that Sheppard is a :diverse' school. Sheppard student body is primarily mexican and much class time is spent with ESL students. Unless your children are latino(a) this is not the best enviornment. The classes are not challenging enough.
This is a wonderful learning environment!
Sheppard Elementary is the best school for my children. They are a very diverse school recognizing all races and cultures. The teachers are always willing to give extra help and they have many programs available to the kids. I would vote Sheppard Elementary the number 1 school in Santa Rosa.
I love it. We have the best students and the best parents. We all work together to make sure our students are happy, healthy and succeesful.
Most of the staff are fantastic but must spend much of their time dealing with esl students and esl parents which could be better spent on classes as a whole.
The parents at this school are very involved. The teaches that I have met are great and really involved with the kids. The class sizes are small, about 20 kids or less per class. The only thing I would like to see more of are after-school programs and activities. My daughter who is in kindergarten loves this school and has done very well here. She is already reading and spelling due to the help and encouragement of her great teachers.
