My son attends kindergarten here and I'm very impressed with teachers and parent involvement. This year we have a new principle and she's wonderful. She holds kids and their parents accountable for their actions and stays strict with the schools policies, finally a principle that cares! I just hope nobody steals he away:)
My daughter attended the 3rd grade and was able to do a intradistrict transfer to Biella Elem. late in the enrollment month. This school is very diverse with a majority of english speaking students. Her teacher was very tentative to my daughters needs as an advance student giving her challenging academic assignments and was willing to assist with our questions even in the late hours of the night. Lots of school activities organized and funded by the parents and teachers even with the budget cuts.
My daughter attended Biella for 3 years and the reviews are right on the money. Lack of principle involvement. If it was not for the parents and teachers I think they would be losing more students then they are now. Unfortunate since it is a great school and hopefully the district will start to wonder one day why the rating is going down and they are loosing students to other schools and districts.
Our daughter was in Kindergarten (06-07) & had the BEST teacher - she didn't want the school year to be over! Although not all may agree with me, we really appreciate the dedication of the Principal. Parents are very invloved in all aspects from Fundraising to upgrading the grounds of the school. The kids appear to have positive school spirit! There's always area's to be improved upon- Parents & Faculty have to continue to improve communication.
I am a parent of two students, my youngest son still attends. I have always been impressed with the parent participation and the care from the teachers as to the education and well being of not just my children but all students. Although there have been some issues with the principal not reacting to concerns in a timely manner. There is a since of leadership with misbehavior in students, but no urgency. It would also be nice if the principal got to know long time students names even if the parent is not part of the PTA.
Parent involvement is great! Most of the big projects around the school would not have been done without them. Most of the teachers seem to enjoy their jobs. The principal is very much for the administration of the school district and is afraid to 'ruffle a feather or 2' when it comes to standing up for her own school. Overall Biella is a wonderful school.
Very impressed by the quality of education, the sense of community and dedication to the children. Parent involvement is welcomed and there are various ways to do your part.
There are some exceptional teachers in this school. However, there is absolutey know accountability for the inadaquit one's. The Principal although very saftey conscious and proactive with security issues is oblivious to anything else. However, this is an elementary school! I have yet to experience any cooperation for the concern I have for my children since we have been there 3 years now. The parents are incredibly proactive and remarkably patient with this administration. Any good that imerges from this school is unquestionably due to the enormous contributions of some trully dedicated teachers and many many undaunted parents. If there was any attempt what so ever to curb her steadfast rigidity and allow the slightest degree of understanding this school would have alot more appeal. Thanks for your time and place for my sincere concern.
