CMP Shingle Springs is a great school. Every child gets the individual attention they need, while also learning how to be part of a group. Students are truly taught a love of learning and the teachers are amazing. We have been at CMP for two years now and it's been wonderful to watch my son love to learn and go to school. No cliques, or bullying, very little conflict from what I've seen. Lots of field trips and education from outside the school, such as firemen, police, animals/critters, etc, etc. If you love the montessori method, you will love this school.
Moved my kids from a top rated elementary school in El Dorado Hills. The teacher/child ratio is low. I love their techniques. Kids are empowered and taught conflict resolution. They focus on character building as well as education. Best decision I've ever made! CMP Shingle Springs has created a great culture for learning. Never once have my kids come home said, "Mom how come I don't have ____" They did that a lot when at their other school.
Academically this school does have great programs for the children and the field trips are many and fun. However, the consequences and follow ups (if at all) for misbehavior are few and far between.
We have been at CMP for seven years and it is a wonderful school. My children have learning disabilities and CMP being a Montessori school I thought would be a perfect match for my children, knowing the philosophy. I have recently found that the school does not follow through with what they have promised and my oldest child is now failing all of her classes. I feel that CMP is great if your child is self directing and does not need structure to be successful.
My daughter has attended this school for the past 4 years and I am hopeful she will continue here through 8th grade. While she has at times, struggled with the Montessori approach, the size of the school (small) allows for considerable one on one attention to the students as well as parental involvement. I am a big cheerleader for this place!
My child attends CMP, Shingle Springs. We travel the distance even though we reside in Folsom, CA. The school grounds are great. Also, the teachers work really hard to make sure the children are learning. My child had a few issues about learning, and the matter was handled quickly with Success Meeting which was valuable. I would recommend this school because they work hard to make sure the children learn. It is important not to miss school, and this school will send a letter if your child misses too much school. So if your child participates in sports etc., requiring time off school
I have two children at CMP Shingle Springs. One is in the middle school program, which is such a wonderful program. The tools they learn in this program, in addition to academics, are priceless. They will go out into this world with so much knowledge and self assurance. My other child is at the elementary level, and he is doing excellent. He is doing work two grade levels above his actual grade (and actually grasps the concepts behind the work) You can't beat the staff, parent participation and level of education the children get. We feel blessed to be at this wonderful school.
California Montessori Project is a wonderful school. My kids have been attending for the past 7 years. The Teachers are acceptional and so are the students. I can't say enough about this school.
My children have attended this school for several years, since before it was a charter. The education level is phenomenal. The Montessori philosophy allows for the varying social and educational personalities of the student. I can honestly say that it's been a miracle for my kids. My older son is now moving on and I can wholeheartedly say that he is ready because of the incredible experience he's had at California Montessori Project.
