I have been a parent volunteer at Buckeye Elementary for over five years. The teachers and staff are wonderful and welcome parent participation in every way whic I believe is a key ingredient for student success. Staff members continually improve the cirriculum and give positive rewards for good behavior. The PTC is very active providing a great resource for fun activities and general support to the school.

My son attended Buckeye from Kindergarten through 3rd grade and I can say that every teacher he had was wonderful. We have recently moved away, back to where we used to live, and now we are considering moving back. I just found out my son's school doesn't have a computer lab and although there are a few computers in his classroom he doesn't know when they will be using them. Buckeye has a fantastic computer lab and my son always looked forward to using them. I will say that the attendance rules are like in the military and a little overboard but we learned to live with it. Over all we miss this school!!

My daughter started in California Montessori Project & wasn't doing good at all. So we took her to buckeye for 4th grade & finally she has almost all A's & is far more confident in all of her studies. The teachers at Buckeye actually care about their students. What a wonderful school.

We are new to Buckeye Elem. this year. My son is in the 3rd. grade, his teacher is amazing. She is everything that a 3rd. grade teacher should be. I appreciate all of the extra things that Buckeye offers that our old school did not. Some of which include: field trips, back to school bar-be-que, the librarians involvement in the kids education, and having a school counselor available to the kids. I'm sure that there is much more that I just have not learned about yet, it is so early in the year. The only negative comment I have is that some of the office staff could be friendlier. I feel it is a great school and I am happy to have discovered it hidden here in the foothills.

Our child is in the 1st grade. We had a good experience in Kindergarten, but 1st grade is absolutely outstanding. The teacher has high expectations and is able to get what she wants without a lot of pressure on the kids. She spends an inordinate amount of time reviewing homework and correcting each letter or number to get close to perfection in each. As a result, the kids know they have to pay attention and discipline themselves. My wife works in the school every Friday and other parents have a similar routine for other days. She sees what the kids do and how the teacher behaves. She says it is the best situation she has ever seen for any of our kids. The principal is very visible and positive. Academic programs such as reading are of very high level. Our 1st grader has become a self reader and loves to read.
