Our daughter has been in CAVA for 3 years. This year she started high school. We were a little disappointed to learn that she could not work ahead like she used to in elementary and Jr. High. Assignments are given out weekly and tests are locked until specific dates. Also the socialization opportunities for HS age kids is practically non-existent. You have to have other social outlets. We are going to put our daughter into a charter HS next year where she can homeschool, take courses on campus but still belong to a brick and mortar school. She will be able to be on the yearbook staff, play sports and take music courses. She can also enroll concurrently at our local college, something CAVA does not allow you to do. All in all it is a good program it served us well for 3 years but things change .

my son has been in this school for 1 & 1/2 years. the cirrucllim and computer setup is great. my son is going about 25% faster than average which has been a problem. Even though they advertise as adaptive to fast learners it's been like pulling teeth to get new courses. Teacher interaction is non existent. Also have just been notifed that under no child left behind they have been listed as not making cut. If your willing to take the extra time required to fight their system of inerita. Hopefully they can get their act together as potenitally improvement over the traditional school system is huge.

A great program where a child can excel in a normal high school curriculum without being in a traditional high school setting.

My son started this year with CAVA at Kern. He is in 9th grade, and he is doing fantastically. He is being switched to CAVA at Los Angeles, since we live in Los Angeles, but, I am sure they are exactly the same.

This program was a God send. My son attended an elementary school in here is Simi. My son had a hard time as he was a bit shy and felt afraid to ask for help. The teachers knew there was a problem, yet seemed to blame it on my child. My son's self esteem was low. We found out about the CAVA program, now I can say he is doing great! The materials are fantastic, like one might see in a regular school. Working at my son's own pace is something that has helped. I would love to show his old teachers just how well he is doing. I am so thankful for this progam! The neat thing is, it is free! This is great for the kids who are not getting the attention they need and are falling behind. The CAVA teachers are the best!

I have three of my children in CAVA. It is a very good program. My children have excelled in it. It is very good if you have children who are behind and need extra help or have children are working above grade level.
