SECA has changed my life. I am now happy to go to school each and every day, no matter how much homework we have. There are a few drawbacks to attending this school: no sports or PE, an incredible workload, and limited choice of electives. However, the list of electives is exanding along with the size of the school, and sports are available outside the school, even at other high schools in the area. With only freshmen and sophomores, SECA has reached unbelieveable goals. For example, the Academic Decathlon team (competing against teams of mostly seniors) recently came in 4th in the county, 1st in the Small Schools division, and landed the Most Improved award. The teachers are dedicated to having the students succeed, and are always available and willing to help kids when they need it. Everyone knows each other and is committed to excellence, so it's like one big happy overachieving family. The one thing many kids have struggled with is the workload. It is not impossible, just enormously difficult, to maintain outstanding grades. If you are driven to succeed and want to fit in with hardworking, smart, honest kids of all backgrounds, I encourage you to apply to SECA.
SECA is rigorous and academically challenging but it pays off in the end. Reaching such a high API score with only a freshman class in the year of 2009- 10 you can see that this is the best schools you could ever attend in Stockton. This is a small school wich means that you have more attention from every single one of your teachers and therefore, learn and understand more. Stockton Early College Academy emphasizes leadership skills and responsability as well as preserverance.
This is an excellent path for students who want to have a college education at the same time. Scholastic achievements and the "can do" spirit are highly regarded in this school. This is a school most likely for students who are willing to put in the time, lots of effort and dedication in pursuing quality education. The leadership and faculty are very dedicated to the kids and their educational welfare and in guiding them on the road less traveled.
Great teachers, and principle. This school has AP and Honors classes. It's really helpful, even though they are really challenging because this helps us prepare for college.
