I've been working at this school as a part-time substitute for the Lincoln Unified School District for a month now, and I have to say that this school is by far my favorite. The school is very clean, I have not witnessed any fights or major issues within the school, the staff is incredibly friendly and competent at teaching and keeping the students in line, and the students seem to be of a higher caliber on average than the other schools I've worked. This isn't to say that the other schools are bad, but you can tell that Tully Knoles tends to employ the best of the best in the district. I feel right at home here.
Strong Parent Involvement, safe location, a place where both principal and teacher strive to offer students the challenge thru after school academic programs. Love the donuts with dad and muffins with mom meet the principal day :)
TCK is an awesome school. The teachers are well-experienced and are very attentive to the students' needs. The PTSA is very active and provide various activities for everyone. I'm proud to be a TCK mom and would had to leave the district.
Nice NCLB Tutoring program (No Child Left Behind: Government-sponsored). Outstanding student community garden. Involved 2nd and 3rd grade teachers... classrooms are filled with posters about English, counting, poetry, colors, etc. Older facilities, however. Somewhat closed, crowded neighborhood. Yearly 'Skate Night' at a roller skating rink. Monthly 'Movie Nights' are common, too.
I think this is a wonderful school! The staff and teachers really seen to care about the students and 'how' they learn. My son really likes going to school because he's had such great experiences there!
