Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

The teacher's are great only to those students who are shining stars. But when your kids need extra attention they do not give you the options to make things any better. My son was falling behind and needed extra attention but it seems they aren't equipped for it. I asked about summer school and they told me it was filling up, but didn't even offer it as an option for improvement for my son. I dedicated 1 day a week to help out in the classroom and the teachers for 2 years now, but to my demise was of no help. The principal talks down to people when spoken to. He makes everyone feel dumb or makes them feel their opinions are invalid. He is unorganized. Basically they made it feel like my my son was not welcome there or that there was no hope at all for him. When I talked to other parents they told me that their kids were going through the same situtation, but it just felt like my son was being left out of any opportunities in improvement.

The school is a very great school and I am glad that my kids attend there. There some negatives about the school..such as few extra cirricular activites and the administration could be better...It definately will lose a lot as the older teachers retire as they are what keeps the school going...and I am glad that there is an uniform exemption policy as no child should be a number...presently over half the school is non-uniform and a vote needs to be done as many more wich to remove the policy that the PTA put into place back in 1994...however the principal seems to be reluctant to do so...

My daughter has attended Lodi Unified Schools and now she is in first grade at Commodore. The teachers are innovative, energetic and push the kids to learn. I believe the academics are superior to most Stkn schools. However, I wish the parents would get more involved and they would make the playground prettier with flowers and more play equipment. I appreciate that the schools cleans up graffiti right away. I wish all of the kids were forced to wear uniforms. There needs to be an incentive program in which kids who wears uniforms earn prizes.

The quality of the academic program is superior to most schools in my opinion. I have reviewed the academic cirriculum at many elemenatry schools and Commodore is more advanced than the schools I have reviewed.
