Small schools have their advantages and disadvantages. But the differences in elementary schools are less than at middle or high school. All elementary schools in CA follow the same curriculum. So the biggest difference is the teachers and the class size (individual attention). Indian Valley has excellent teachers and staff who really care about their students. Also the teacher student ratio is the best you could find anywhere. It is proven that the more attention a student has the better they learn. Because the school is a necessary small school and is funded by the state in this way it will not be closed ever! The Parent Teacher Club is involved in the school in many ways. There are fund raising activities that raise money to have field trips for the students, provide playground equipment and support learning activities. There is a music teacher who comes once a week.
