Stifling to the divergent thinker student particularly the English department. Constant changing of leadership/superintendents has left education in the hands of individual teachers/departments. Every student must take English therefore every student's experience is effected by the narrow vision, limited experience, and lack of professional skills of the department. There are some great Math, Science, History, Tech and Business Teachers who are overshadowed by the English Department.
This school is on its way to becoming first class, building upon solid teaching practices and a more unified vision. Students here have much opportunity.
This is an Awesome school your very upbeat and have Good Education for my kids! Thanks and well see if my kids Graduate!
A good, solid school for the most part. Good music, ag, and tech departments. My kids developed strong, lasting relationships with both students and teachers. There are always problems with every school and Lassen is no exception, but all in all my kids had a good experience.
Lassen High School offers a safe environment that is careful not [t]o discriminate. All religions are welcome, and students will find little to no badgering of their beliefs. The teachers are personable, and most will take the time to help students outside of class as best they can. I was glad to have attended Lassen High.
The overall academic atmosphere is lacking at Lassen High. The staff does not contact parents until the very last minute if there is a problem with the child's academic progress. The teachers, for the most part, only do the minimum that is required.
The academic programs are lacking for the most part, with very few above average classes. The availability of music in the school is almost non-existant, with only one teacher and a very limited budget. Opportunities for extracurricular activities are most available in the Ag department, which is an excellent program.
Lassen High School is devastatingly lacking in terms of education. The English department, to be more precise, is subpar. Other departments are overlooked or under funded. The best thing to be said about LHS is that there is a sense of unity, and few really good instructors that go above and beyond to teach their pupils.
excellent place for kids to make new friends
