Develops empathy: Neutral
July 12, 2015
It really depended on what teacher or staff memeber you would go to. Some staff members were ok at helping but mostly your friends were always the best help to making you feel better. But the teachers also did care about the student like if you were there own child.

Fun year but it could have been better if little things were to change. Like the fact that the lunch line was more controlled or the uniform strictness was a little less. Most of the teachers were nice and were able to help if you needed it. Well there was some bullying but i wouldent say a lot of student were being bullied. It was mostly the same kids over and over again. But for me it was a nice year.

Teacher effectiveness: Effective
July 12, 2015
I would say that 6 out 7 teachers were really helpful this year. All of those 6 teachers were really nice and knew when and how to controll the classroom. They tried to make the classes interesting and at the end of the year i feel that i have improved all but one subject, math. This years math class is one that i will never forget and i dont mean that in a good way. Our teacher did not know how to controll the students and he dident seem to help them either when they asked for help. I rember this one time i was sitting in class and i was raising my hand for like 5 minutes. I saw him looking at my hand and he dident seem to care that i needed help. My partner saw and was just screaming so he would notice because thats the only way he would notice. He finally came to my desk and i told him that i dident understand. He told me the same thing over and over in the same way and he dident understand that i dident get how to do it. He left and i was just there not understanding the lesson. He never really tought us anything exept that not all teachers are good at teaching. The classroom was very loud and it was never that way in any of the other classrooms. I would know because the classes have the same students but we just rotate to diffrent classes. There were holes in the wall and drawings all over. He made "friends" with the students that would just take advantage of him and would give warnings to one person but if anther person did it nothing happend. Kids often got mad and would tell them that. There were no real consequences in the class. People werent even quiet during a test. Lets just say i wasnt exacltly sad when it was our last day in that class. Finally after an hour a day 5 times a week for the entire year it was over. But the other teachers were really awsome in my opinion. My top 3 favorite teachers were Mrs.Mahtani, Mr.Burnett, and Ms.Rogel. Over all the year wasnt bad and i had lots of fun. It just sucked that i dident get to enjoy that one class.

h ello i am a student and i say i feel off and on about this school i either like it or i dont and its bad because i want to go to a school i like every day their so strict about uniforms they confiscate your sweater even when its cold and you cant wear hats you also cannot bring any drink besides water even if your responsible. plus they don't catch kids who break the rules i see people using their phones while i get caught. the staff can be really rude and the teachers are too slow and i want to feel challenged when i don.t i am usually a bad student but here i seem to do good and its too easy and not challenging. there's drawings everywhere and there's broken things and kids playing soccer in the middle of the lunch area and they hit me once and none of them said sorry. the lunch lines are terrible! everyone is crazy and there's nasty stuff everywhere. most of the lunch is usually thrown away so their just wasting food! at least the principals and some staff are nice but they need to make changes. because just because they have a new campus dosent mean it will be good. its usually a hit or miss but it's not that great there are better schools like valley.

This school tries their best. They put in effort and try new things, but in the end it fails because they don't have discipline ,teachers randomly come and go,they don't Know how to control students, and all the Staff are too Frenzied. Even though they might be growing in campis Size They Arent Growing academically and mentally so I think I would rather prefer a well-rounded,well disciplined, organized, educational, and a School with kind students but a small school Rather Than a Big campus with uncontrolable Behavior, madness, unexpected things,Worry Rush, and unorganazation. This School Has a bad environment and This School is currently disastrous.3 Stars for good Trying and Good Intentions but That's Neve Enough To make this school good. There are better options than TC A,

Hello. Did You Know A 7th Grade Math Teacher From Here Got Fired For Inappropriately Touching Stundets and Making Them Feel Uncomfortable? Enough Said. The Office Staff Is Rude and Yells At Children For Making One Mistake. The Benchmark Grades are Terrible. Below Basic and Basic at the most received grades. The Highest Grade Was Only Proficient. It's too Small. You do Not Have Personal Space Or Privacy and Since Its Small Gossip and Secrets Get Out Easily 1 Day Later and Soon the Whole Grade Knows About Your Secret. There's Nothing That Will Make You Feel Safe , Comfortable , Or Respected. Starting From The Teachers,Students,Office, and Cramped School Size. I hope I can Leave TCA

I hate this school. They only have 1 bathroom for a girl and boy it doesn't even lock wich gives no privacy and no comfort. The water fountains are all Broken and are dirty. It's a small amount of space wich leaves no personal space. The teachers can be better teachers The rooms are the smallest rooms I have ever seen. The food is always expired. They have no field nd no lockers They make is carry around our backpacks and it's to heavy. They have no auditorium wich means that we need to excercise outside with no heat or cooler. 3 people have fainted at this school because of this ^^^. The teacheds cus at students. We raise money for the school and they make no difference. The things are really cheap their that have no nerse this school is a mess I HATE THIS SCHOOL I DO NOT RECOMEND TO BRING A CHILD

Bad communication with parents, Teachear want to send the children to the office and then the office has the child call the parent to tell them they just got in trouble. when I tried talking to the office personal they hqad no clue what my son or i were trying to say. I had asked to talk to the teacher and the teacher never returned my call, this school is very unorganized. they don't even have lockers for the kids, the kids have P.E only once a week and have to go in their P.E clothes and stay in their P.E clothes all day long, no nursing office, only one restrom for boy and one for girl. when my son started this school they requested 20 pencil, 20 pens, 20 of everything. it is crazy what they ask for. they worry more about raising money for the school than teaching the children. i hate this school.

My child attended this school from 6th-8th grade. School is small, which in turn allows the teachers to really focus on every childs education. School offers a very safe learning environment as well. Overall I was very satisfied with the school. JS

It is a great option for parents in the community of San Fernando. It is a small middle school which is rare and it is a charter school that provides a better education then Nearby middle schools.

I was a student there up until the end of 2008 in 7th grade. The whole school was terrible and a mess. Seriously they need to expand to make it larger. Its so small.

Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
