We have made many changes on student accountability this year. I am very proud of our programs that help students progress on their own time. We are focus on data and in improving student success. This is a great school to be part of.

I have been a volunteer at Slymar Elementary School. I found the principal and staff to be very warm and caring . The students were very enthusiastic learners who take great pride in their school . It is a great place to be!

I just completed a 15 week student teacher placement here (7 weeks 1st grade, 8 weeks 5th). I have observed & visited many local schools while pursuing my MA/Ed, but I have to say that Sylmar has the BEST staff, the most caring educators in LA. They warmly embraced me & supported me every step of the way. The Sylmar staff put its STUDENTS' progress FIRST; they go above & beyond the call of duty. Sylmar has a close-knit group of dedicated educators that work together to create a positive learning environment for their students. I can't recommend them enough-- they rock!

I'm a student teacher currently at Sylmar Elementary, and have been here only two weeks. Within this time frame I have encountered great teachers. Also, I have learned so much in only two weeks!! This would be a great school where you would want your children to attend. I'm so fortunate to be part of the school's team even if it is temporary but it's unfortunate that they are not hiring! However, I will take valuable information and strategies to take to my future class.

I had a very good experience at Sylmar. They have a great, responsive principal who works tirelessly for the students and staff.

This is the first year my child is at Sylmar Elementary, coming from a private school. I was not aware how low the standards were at the private school. I am so grateful to the Sylmar Elementary staff, teachers and administration for the wonderful year my daughter has had. Thank you for all the wonderful things you do for the students.

I was a t.a at this school and enjoyed the company of the kids, staff and teachers . Great leadership from pricinpal to staff.

I attend this school and now I'm proud to say that my child is part of it as well. It's a great school and have a lot of great memories.
