Our family has been at Linfield for 10 years, our daughter started in second grade, and is now a senior! Our twin boys are in eighth grade. We have been very blessed to have our children at a school that supports our Christian values. We love the faculty and administration!! Our daughter's last 10 years have been spent with many of the same students. They have a bond of friendship that is amazing! Linfield is a 'small-town' atomosphere. The campus is beautiful, a large property with trees and a pond! The many campus improvements have made this school equal to any public schools. The smaller student body will impress you, in that the faculty knows your student! The sports programs are available to all students with JV and Varsity teams in nearly all sports! You will be impressed with the level of coaching at every level.
This school has far exceeded my dreams or expectations of what a school should be. It is very much a tradtional close knit family with strong moral values and character. What the school sold me on was that it is strong academically, strong sports curriculum, music class starts at a early age and is encouraged. Also, very strong performing arts, I would highly encourage anyone to check out any performance and see how blown away you are. The school is beyond amazing. I am blessed beyond measure to have found this jem!
We have had our children at Linfield for the last nine years. It has been an amazing experience, and far better than I ever imagined a school could be. The staff and teachers really care! It's such a great feeling to know that our children are spending the day with people who are committed to them; committed to their personal growth, their educational development and most importantly their relationship in Christ. My kids get to have teachers who are praying for them on a regular basis! We had one child who struggled academically for a couple of years, and another who excelled. It was amazing to see how attentive the teachers were to their needs on both ends of the spectrum. Even more than academics, what is wonderful to me is the teaching of values and Christian beliefs. I'm so happy our kids get to experience this environment everyday!
We have 2 children attending Linfield and have been very pleased with not only the education ,but most importantly the values that are being taught. Linfield has an excellent mentorship program through reading buddies, varsity athletic camps between the high school and elementary campus and guest speakers at our weekly chapel. Linfield also has excellent enrichment with dedicated performing arts, PE and Spanish teachers. Teachers make personal connections with the students. It is very common for past students to visit their prior years teachers. They are even invited monthly to have lunch with their former teacher and class. The bottom line is your children will receive a great education and have a solid value system that they can take and apply as our future leaders.
We love the elementary school. We've been there 2 years and look forward to sending all 3 of our children. The teachers and staff are amazing. We're 'involved' parents and like everything we've seen in the classroom. The work is challenging and the 'extras' make such a well rounded program (spanish, art, PE, Performing Arts). The administration has been a pleasure and have gone out of their way to make sure we're happy (and always with a smile). I feel our children are getting the best education and will be prepared for anything life hands them. Thank you Linfield
My child attends the high school, and likes all 7 of her teachers, though 2 are ineffectual. The work load is heavy and stressful. Teachers are willing to give up their free time to help. The administration is not supportive and seems pretty cold-hearted. School policy states students may not be absent more than 10 times per semester, even if it is for medical reasons, or grades will be lowered by 10%. My child would have had straight A's, but I neglected to see this policy on page 28 of the parent handbook. Her grade in one class for the semester was 100%, but it was lowered to a B+, which is more than a 10% drop. I'm still trying to get this changed. The school does not have to comply with the ed. code that says schools cannot drop grades due to medical absences. We're getting very little response.
My children have gone to Linfield Christian school for about 8 years now. Although the school is not flawless, it has been a positive experience for my children and has prepared them for college and for life. Teachers are committed to instilling Christ like values into the students and are not hampered by state regulations to do so. If you can secure a spot for your child in the school I would highly recommend it.
We are so thankful for Linfield Christian School. It is truly a home away from home for our children. After being in huge public schools where, especially in high school, our kids were really not known by their teachers, we love the personal environment where our children are known by name- even by the principal. The academics are excellent and challenging, the teachers are trained and experienced in their subject areas, it is a safe and welcoming environment and there are many, many opportunities for kids to get involved. As christians, we love the solid biblical teaching that our children receive here and the reinforcement of our values by the school staff. We love that the rules are actually enforced and there is quick and consistent follow through. We would recommend this school to anyone who asked- we already have!
We're very happy with Linfield. The teachers and staff are great to work with, they love the kids AND their parents. I've seen my son go from poor grades and poor attitude to honor roll two semesters in a row and believe it's a result of prayer, and staff commitment. I would highly recommend Linfield!
My daughter is in year third year at Linfield High School and I couldn't be more pleased with her education both in the classroom and on the campus. Linfield offers both academic quality along with diverse extra-curricular activities from quality sports teams to drama to many leadership programs. The administration puts God first in their lives as well as their influence on campus interacting with the students. I feel my daughter will be well equipped to head off to college and her life beyond thanks to her education at Linfield High School.
Linfield is a filled with incredible adminstators who care about each child and family. They give their very best and beyond to make sure Linfield is a safe, scholastic, and all-around with sports, art and music that gives every child an incredible oppurtunity not only to learn but to grow and reach for the highest potential. The teachers, principals and others are the very best. Our children who do well academically are challenged here to strive for higher goals. They have enoyed sports and art and have learn them well with great coaches. The Spiritual emphasis is wonderful and blesses the school as a whole. I could list many, many outstanding teachers and staff. We had been in public school system for over 16 years before we came to Linfield, and have been at Linfield for over 3 years and could not be happier.
This is our fourth year at Linfield and we could n't be happier. We appreciate the Christian atmosphere and wonderful teachers.
My children went K-12 and then onto a UC school. It was worth the money for the college prep environment. They both landed extremely successful careers after college. I am still amazed how much we still talk about Linfield when the kids are over. They now plan to send their kids to Linfield.
School appeas to be mostly interested in receiving your tuition money. The administration offers positions to their personal network first rather than looking for the most qualified candidates. The administration is not open to parent's feedback unless it is positive. They usually dismiss your constructive feedback with a dismissive 'well that is your opinion' remark. After transferring to another local school, we found that our children were behind academically despite excelling at Linfield. Most of the teachers are good people, but others should not be teaching. Of course, this is only my opinion and your experience may be different. However, I have found that change is diffucult for large organizations interested mostly in building ivory towers.
This schools has the worst discipline, as well as some of the worst teachers. Very few extracirricular activities, and especially not a college prepatory school.
Mr. Hauge and Mr. Paul are two of the best english teachers I have ever had the pleasure of encountering and my child has learned quite a lot from them in the past few years.
