Our children have attended for over 7 years. Parents meet with instructors once weekly or more for assignments/special projects. THS provides a great option for those seeking home-style education while having much or little assistance & resources of a public school, wonderful for first-timers or 'veteran' homeschooling parents in a nurturing, 'open-door' environment. Socialization crosses both gender and grades (K-8th). Instructors from various backgrounds, from science to the arts, are responsive & caring. State texts used, but supplementals by parents are allowed. Kids test higher than public-schooled counterparts. Financially struggling TUSD (district) aided by ADA monies from this quality program is a win-win situation. Teachers try hard to meet the demand of growing enrollment, often by working personal hours. More instructors, office, teaching & lab space are needed every term. Unfortunately, teachers in this & neighboring campuses are underpaid in comparison to comparable districts within the state. E-mail: melissachavez5@yahoo.com

The District's enlightened policy allows 6-8 graders to take one elective at the Middle School across the street. Our daughter, who chose advanced science, was extremely well-served by this integrated approach. The home school offers art, ceramics, field trips to museums and plays, and even a yearbook. Very involved parents offer cooking and art workshops and there are numerous opportunities to socialize. Fully-credentialed teachers, including reading specialists, provide outstanding support tailored to meet each student's needs. Results justify its high rating.
