Excellent Private School. I feel the educational level is excellent and my two kids have excelled. I have one in 8th grade and my boy is in 1st grade, excellent teachers and office staff.

Great school with exceptional teachers. If any parent complains about this school, they should have their child attend a public school. They'll really appreciate what they have.

First Lutheran offers a very warm and friendly environment for the kids. The teachers and staff are excellent and we are very satisfied overall with the school.

My daughter started Kindergarten as my marriage was unraveling. Not only did I personally feel welcomed and supported, but I felt that my daughter received extra attention and care on top of everthing academic the school had to offer. Coming from a background of traditional, serious studies, I have been very happy with everything that she learned, from grammar, to math, to science, social skills and self-worth as well as a sense of others developed through kindness and generosity. The bonus has been that the very same teachers/staff also participate in a rich culture of music and drama that include the children by means of programs offered by the school and incorporated by the Church. Everyone becomes part of the bigger picture that really strives for the wholesomeness of the child in relationship to its place in the world and God. What a wonderful place to be part of!

FLS is a nice small environtment, better suited for small kids. its very boring. some teachers aren't the brightest (or best suited) crayons in the pack. there is always one, if not more, fundraisers going on.

This is our second year at this school. I have two kids going, one older and one younger. I have been to 4 other private schools over the past 10 years due to moving, and this school is by far the best private school I have ever sent my kids to. It is large for a private school, which I like. There are two classrooms for every grade from first to eighth. I love that the school goes up to eighth grade, this way my two kids can stay in the same great school longer and less running around for me. The kids from fifth grade and up change classrooms for the core subjects. This starts to teach them responsibility. The 7th & 8th grade core teachers must be four of the best group of teachers that any school has had. They are challenging, caring, understanding, and organized. Great School!!

Good school, but nothing special. Agree with previous parent that this is a place for quiet kids who stay quiet. (Good for infants, not so much for toddlers). If your child is 'spirited', then this is probably not the best place for him/her. Teacher/administrator communication below average at best.

My opinion: Nice little campus. Clean. Traditional, uninspired instruction - nothing terribly innovative or unique. The perfect place for the quiet student who likes busy work, who wants to fit in, but not stand out. Even remedial students can do well here if they can sit still and be quiet. Most teachers are adequate, a couple are fantastic, some abysmal. There are only two classrooms per grade, so there's no avoiding the abysmal. The principal is chilly, abrasive and disorganized. If you're someone looking for a christian school, it is, according to the expensive new sign in the parking lot. If you're looking for an academically challenging environment, there are better choices.

First Lutheran School's Early Education Center has been such a blessing for our family. Our daughter has attended and loved the daycare services at their Lomita campus. The director, Sandy is not just warm, caring, and always available to parents, she is conscientious and zealous. She and her wonderful staff keep the facility clean and safe at all times. There are always new things for the children to do and explore. My daughter has absolutely blossomed in the loving environment that all the teachers work to maintain. Even I as a parent have learned so much from Sandy and her teachers. With each new phase of my daughter's development I have felt supported and validated as I grappled with how best to approach her changing needs. The teachers at this site have been nothing but supportive and loving with us all!
