I went to Kurt T. Shery High for one whole year and loved it! The staff at this school are all so nice and welcoming. All of them really care about the students and they really help them learn and help them achieve success. I loved going to this school because of these reasons and because the staff are all great people who want to see the students to succeed in life and they do what they can to help us do so. I would truly rate this school 10 out of 5 because thanks to them i was able to graduate high school along with many other students who went to Shery.
Shery High School is a wonderful nuturing school with teachers that are there for the kids. They teach with positive reinforcement and encouraging self esteem. All high schools should take a lesson from Shery. Not all kids do well in a traditional setting. I can not say enough about how wonderful a school this is. I would give it 7 stars out of 5!
I was a long term substitute teacher at this school. The students there aren't 'bad kids' just those that have just fallen short of credits and didn't fit into the traditional school setting, The staff were warm and welcoming. They truly cared about each and every student and tried to find the best methods to teach in an effective manner. This school is a jewel in the rough.
Continuation schools usually get a bad rap. Most people think they're schools for 'bad' kids. Our experience with Shery High School was far from that. From the day my son set foot on campus, he was welcomed and treated with respect by staff. They looked at those students like they would any other. Not all students are there because they were 'bad'. Many of them just didn't do well in a regular classroom setting. My son's favorite feature of the school was the small class sizes. At one point when new students were transferred into the school, the kids were bummed because it increased their class size. They really saw the benefit of the smaller size classes. Also, the teachers and staff there really care about these students. When others were ready to let them fall through the system, they stood up and took a stand for our children. Thank you!
