Develops honesty: Strongly disagree

Worst. School. Ever. It's been almost 3 years now and this school still can't be honest about where their money goes. Parents supply class rooms, sports equipment, anything and everything from field supervision too valet. The parents who like this school are the ones who donate the most money too it. This school is extrreamly clicky and they act as if nothing ever goes wrong! They even delete posts off their facbook page from parents who point out problems. It's very crazy. Your child will not have any text books, so get ready for them to stare at a computer screen ALL day. Ever read comprehension! You also have to supply the computer lol and there is NO class set so if they don't have one they are left out! They have a bully issue and it NEVER gets addressed aporpreatly. They lost 5 teachers in one semester for not being able to pay them. They do a million and fundraising all year long and really really pressure you to contribute but you will never be able to see you or your money actually goes. Do not send your child here! The school calendar changes thought the year so you can't really plan on trips or holidays. This school is extrreamly disorganized

When we signed up our grandchild for 1st grade 2014 - 2015 the Pinecrest site was in play for him to attend. It turned out he was bussed to Auga Dulce. He enjoyed riding the bus so it never became a major issue except for safety concerns on our part. We had a very positive experience with his overall school curriculum and his 1st grade teacher was excellent. I asked him many times during the year if he was enjoying going to school and he always responded "yes!". He will be returning this year for another bus ride to Auga Dulce except this time his brother will be on the bus attending Kindergarten. Yes there were a lot of legal issues impacting the school and teachers coming and going. There will be new administration this year so we are hoping for a smoother school season. Be prepared for numerous fund raisers. We helped as much as we could but never felt obligated or pressured in anyway. We are looking forward to having them attend AEA SCV again this year and watching them blossom and grow.

First, this school has may entries in Great School ( I am assuming to run from the negative reviews). If hiding from the complaints about asbestos, making kids ride buses to Agua Dulce campus to keep your child in 2nd grade, terrible management ( a friend's child's punishment was to be yelled at by random students in the office every recess in front of management to "to cure him"), substandard facilities, keeping terrible teachers after letting go great teachers last August; then I guess this is the school for your vulnerable child.

First, they rotate teachers like a revolving door; and the ones they keep are either inexperienced or lazy. Second, the "administration" is laughable. The don't have administration experience and told me they have a "bully - tolerant" school! Finally, mid-year we were told to commute to August Dolce because 2nd grade isn't being taught there anymore. Really? What's next? No wonder Newhall is going to shut them down.

My daughter has been in AeA since last year when the school opened. It was a big risk and decision to transfer my daughter from an elementary school which is half a mile from our house as compared to AeA in Agua Dulce. Driving all the way up to AG is my only problem about this school. As a full-time working mom with small kids, who has to drive everyday back & forth from AeA-AG is bothersome, to say the least. Despite my constant persuasion, my daughter however does not want to move to another school. Will not consider even trying other schools. Although she is tired from the long drive, she is happy everyday and always has something exciting to share about what they did in school and all their activities and is always looking forward to going to school the next day. Now, this kind of enthusiasm means something. My daughter loves their STEAM teaching philosophy. The admin & staff are very approachable and the teachers are excellent. It is a shame that other school districts just does not want Aea-Elementary to succeed let alone exist. But as long as AeA is fighting to provide quality education, as a parent, I will support AeA all the way.

Pros: The teachers are mostly great , very enthusiastic and creative. The classes are small (under 25 kids) Project base learning. Foreign languages... though I would not expect that your kid would actually speak it... Just will learn that there are other languages than English. Cons: Your experiences would really depend on two things: 1. How much money you would donate to school and 2. How good you are kissing up to the administration. Completely mismanaged school. The management would be very rude if you don't match two criteria above. They are mostly busy to blame others (other school districts) for their own mistakes. They give a lot of promises and very few of them actually would materialize. If you have two kids of different age, be prepared that they will be at two different campuses about 30 min drive apart. Even though they provide buses, there were multiple incidents in the last year. This is a technology school, but be prepared that YOU have to pay for all the technology in the school. They claim to be transparent, but there no accountability for anything.

The found asbestos in the Pine Crest site. My child went there for six months before they knew or informed the parents. The leadership just doesn't seem very prepared or bright. I've had several conversations with the principal now, and he seems to be out of his depth.

Top notch school. Teachers and staff are so invested in the students. My personal experience, my child went from struggling with reading and already having a complex in first grade, to reading at grade level and enjoying it. I believe that takes excellent teachers. They are given freedom to get ideas and concepts across. Less homework and higher grades. They're definitely doing something right. The school is up to date with technology to give our kids a solid foot hold towards today's rapidly changing world.
