I rated it average because my grandson just started this school as a 1st grader. So far, his teacher seems to be on point with teaching and preparing the children to learn age-appropriate skills. I was apprehensive on his first day because he had a substitute teacher. This went on for approximately 3 weeks, where his class had a substitute weekly, until the Vallejo, CA school district finally hired a permanent teacher. She seems to be great with assignments consisting of math, reading comprehension, and overall reading skills. She also conducted a review from Kindergarten for those children who did not quite catch on.
My daughter attended this school for the 4th and 5th grades. Rick Kliene was her teacher both years. He was exceptional. She grew as a person and in her education far more than I thought was possible in a public elementary. The school is small and neighborly. People watch out for each others children and their safety. They have many ways for the children to be involved with other grades, other schools, public safety and generally making their school a better place. My daughter's class went on at least 10 field trips. There was a strong sense of caring and community and personal responsibility.
