I've have attended this school for two years, and its a great school. The campus is really nice and clean, teachers are fantastic, and athletics gets tons of support. One bad thing about this school is that the kids are extremely judgemental and there is many cliques. Its almost impossible to meet new friends or even feel welcome around a different group then your own. Its terrible. There isn't very many electives to choose from and only two language options. Overall this is a really good school and past two years have been pretty good.
This school is wonderful. Everyone is so friendly, and the town is very spirited when it comes to school activities.
I Think Valley Center High School is Excellent in every thing they offer. They have Great Teachers and Staff members.
They didn't have a very big selection of elective classes. They have a good enough sports program and the campus is beautiful.
The math department is doing a great job. The number of sections of the high level classes (precalc, calculus) is increasing. My daughter, a senior now, has liked and learned well from all her teachers. Football team (and other sports) make us proud by winning CIF. Parents are invoved in a constructive way, although some still trash the teachers before they talk to them. Interested in reaching students of all backgrounds.
In my opinion this is the best high school in the area. I compared it among 2 others with good reputation: Bonita Vista and Eastlake High School. I went to the schools, talked to former students and the Principals from each school and I decided that Otay Ranch was my number one choice. The Principal and many other school employees are constantly supervising kids activities, student drop offs and pick ups. The environment is friendly but discipline and respect are very important. The teacher qualitiy is very good and it has many activities to keep children busy. The school is new and the facility is very modern with state of the art equipment in the classrooms. It also has the Compact for Success program that guarantees students entry to San Diego State or UCSD.
VCHS is an excellent school there is high importance in every kid being sucessful. There is a great performing arts program at this school as well as a good sports program. Because Valley Center is a small community the entire town supports the school and all parents and grandparents are encouraged to participate when ever possible. My grandaughter, whom I have raise since she was 4 years old will be graduating this June. She has had excellent teachers that have been very involved in her education and have worked with her when she starts to get off tract. They have helped her to maintain a high GPA so that going on to college will not be a problem for her. I rate this school as excellent.
