My second child is now attending VC Middle school and had some difficulty with a couple of the other students. When I went in to speak to the principal about my concerns...I was told that the principal does not see parents and I would need to speak to the vice-principal. As it turned out, the vice-principal did a great job of handling the situation and all is now fine. So here's the thing, the principal only deals with teachers and staff in the school and the vice-principal handles all of the parent and student issues. I think the teachers and staff are doing the best they can given the difficulty they have to endure. After all, it is middle school and there is a lot of drama that occurs. Another positive is that the school has FINALLY included a lunch menu for our vegetarian and vegan children.
I recently attended Valley Center Middle school, and it had to be the worst school experience yet. the staff was horrible and did not care and the principle not once came out of her office. the vice Principle was was the meanest women and never once showed concern or sympathy. the children where terrible and i am ashamed to have known them. the staff had absolutely no control. overall it was not found experience. on the other hand the high school is amazing and the teachers and principle actually care for their students.
this school has great electives and teacher the principle is not that bad however the vice-principle cares greatly about the students
The teachers at this school are a mixed bag. Unfortunatly with budget cuts a lot more pressure has been put on teachers and their performance this year has been poor. Probably somewhat to do with larger class sizes and fewer resources. I find the principal Mona Stroud to be rather cold when you have a problem. I also do not see that the school has many options or resources for higher achieving students. I would like to see more teachers get excited about the job they do. They are the ones who chose it so they should act like they like it sometimes.
This school is excellent teaching wise, but the principal seems like she just doesnt care. I feel strongly about my oppinion and think it should be taken seriously. To the teachers and staff, keep your heads up and continue to pass on all the great knowledge to our children. -Concerned Parents
I am a grduating student from the class of 2006. Although the teaching staff is awesome, I do not have the same judgement for the principal.
VC Middle unfortunately, because of federal mandates, caters to the underserved and underscoring. There is no interest in helping high achieving students in any significant way. Too bad because they start much better.
i think this is a good school.
We love this school! I have had 2 children go through this school, the third one will attend in 2 years. The only disapointment is the cut in after school sports due to state wide budget cuts. The teachers are truly interested in the students.
Overall a downward spiral ever since the addition of a new principal, who has an unenthusiastic approach to leadership, and a bad attitude toward the students. I'm planning to move out of Valley Center after 12 years because of my unsatisfaction.
