I couldn't ask for more from a school. The previous reviews say it all. You'd be hard-pressed to find a parent who won't rave about the teachers, the academics, the activities, and the general atmosphere of this place. When I started looking at preschools, I visited several places before this one, and felt very ho-hum about all of them. Then I came to Ventura Montessori, and I immediately got warm-fuzzies. I instantly knew this was an environment in which children can thrive. The academics are amazing, but just as wonderful are the lessons they learn in life-skills, manners, and culture. The teachers are phenomenal. The Directress leads the older classroom, and has been with the school since it opened in 1969. She studied under teachers trained directly by Dr. Montessori. The head teacher of the younger classroom has been with the school for over 20 yrs. This is our third year with VMS, and we plan on keeping our son there for his kindergarten year, and possibly even 1st grade. He was bouncing off the walls his first day of school, and has since developed into such a thoughtful, creative, and mature little boy. We owe so much to this school. I would recommend it to anyone.

My oldest daughter is on her third year at Vms and we are so happy here. We will be very sad when she has to move on. The atmosphere is amazing, from the quite classrooms to the school pets and gardens. My youngest daughter has just started and Mrs Brunger is great with helping the kids transition. Best school ever. My husband even atttended this school 30 years ago and now our daughter has the same teacher he did.

I have two graduates from Ventura Montessori School and another little one currently attending. My girls love this school and their teachers. The older girls are remembered and welcomed back for a visit with open arms and have carried the lessons they have learned on into elementary school. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming. The children learn to be independent and respectful little citizens.

We love Ventura Montessori School (VMS) and our daughter is attending her 2nd year. We chose VMS over public school Kindergarten since we are so happy with her academic progress & discipline. The teachers, staff, parents and students are amazing and dedicated. We see our daughter developing a love of learning, she wants to read and practice math even at home. The unique characteristic of Montessori method is that he students are learning how to think, how to make decisions, how to manage their time, work independently, and most importantly, how to be a respectful and compassionate human being. The teachers and parents are vested in the success of the school and work hard at communicating what is going on, encourage fundraising & volunteer opportunities. If you are lookiing for education for your 2 1/2 - 6 year old, please consider VMS, a great community of teachers, parents and students.

The teachers create a calm and caring environment. My nonstop 2-1/2 year old is patient, quiet, and respectful at school... and her good behavior comes home with her! This is a rigorous academic environment yet the learning is child-led. My 4 year old is gaining a concrete understanding of math that will last him a lifetime. And the teachers emphasize good manners. He wrote a thank-you letter to his grandmother for a puzzle she sent - without any prompting from us!

Couldn't be any happier. The teachers are incredible patient and calm, even with my highly energetic 3 yr old. I'm amazed at the progress my kids have made there. Well on their way to being very confident, motivated and inquisitive young people.

Love the school. The teachers are warm and welcoming, creating a clean, safe and loving environment where the kids can learn in the traditional Montessori method. My two children have thrived in this school, learning to love school.
