Soo pleased we are here! The "Whole Child, Whole Citizen" approach is what this world needs and exactly what I want for our family. They encourage true participation as an excellent introduction to learning, social and emotional integration, and responsibility, both for the child and the family. Not easy but crucial for the best of educations.

Is an excellent alternative to traditional academic institutions and ideologies in education. Their program is based on educating the "whole child" by addressing the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of K-8 students. With instruction in arts, science and community service students and community members embrace non violent communication, conflict resolution, community building and global awareness. If you are looking for a progressive school where the administrators, directors and teachers care about more than test scores. Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education is an institution where your child can grow beyond expectations and where their potential will be nuorished daily.

My child was only able to be at this school for one year. But she and I loved it! All other schools she has been to just do not compare. The teachers were great, the methods of teaching are outstanding and the parent involvement puts the school over the top.

It says it in the school's name. They teach arts and global topics. I enjoy the fact that they teach non-violent resolution to all grades in school. Communication is key. They teach this there to the students and to the parents.

Ventura Charter School offers my son a unique program that focuses on his interests and makes learning fun. At the same time, the program is rigorous, progressive, and extremely high-quality. Their focus on arts and global education as well as community and non-violent communication is outstanding -- resulting in very well-balanced graduates who have an intrinsic understanding of the interconnectedness of our modern life. This is a great school that has created a wonderful environment for learning and growth on every level.

This is Ventura Charter School's third year of operation and we are so pleased with how this great school is improving. We had faculty changing last year, with 3 of our teachers leaving midyear to have babies. This year we have such an amazing faculty - each and every one is outstanding. I am so happy at this school. It's a big commitment to be volunteering in the classroom every week, as each family is required to do, but the benefits to the children, the learning environment and families are tangible. I am surprised greatschools is only rating the school a 7 - I'd give it a 9, myself, and look for it to become the best progressive, child-focused school in the county in the coming years. I have two kids who go to the school, and we've been there since it opened.

This is a model school that not only teaches academic skills but life skills! By having a 'student-centered' approach, Ventura Charter develops skills that lead to critical thinking, problem solving, and self-motivation. By having parents as active participants, working closely with teachers, they are able to provide a rich curriculum with hands-on projects as the basis for most of the academic work. In addition, there is an emphasis on the arts, culture, the environment, character development, and interpersonal communication skills. This school has made me a better parent and has been a true partner in giving my children a well-rounded education that will prepare them for high school and beyond. Families in Ventura are lucky to have this as a public school option!

This school keeps the inquisitive nature of children alive. It treats them as individuals with different learning styles and encourages them to think on thier own and be confident in life. They are able to be individuals but also learn how to work together. Great school for keeping a childs love of learning and spirit alive.

If you are looking for a non-traditional school with progressive education I highly recommend Ventura Charter. Parent Participation is madatory. The teachers get to know the whole child, not just thier test scores. Appreciations and Concerns are discussed daily in Magic Circle. Always trying to improve and get parent feedback ( they actually listen to you!) your opinion and participation is valued and is a key component in the school. We are so lucky to have this school.
