This is a wonderful school that emphasizes what is important about a child's education which is parent involvement...I know it is shocking to hear that parents are requested to be involved in their kids education (facetiously said) Guess what school is not a 6 hour day care. The Principal is truly a leader with an inclusive focus not exclusive. I am very proud of what my children have accomplished as well as where they are headed through Sacred Heart. I have felt completely welcomed and a part of my kids schooling. I am an empowered parent due solely to what values are held at Sacred Heart. Lastly when my wife who is a Masters Degree carrying Credentialed Teacher says this is the school to go to I listened. I have total praise for Sacred Heart. You know its worth it for us we drive through three cities to get our kids there...that's passing a lot of other private schools along the way.

I am giving zero stars on purpose. Terrible schooling. This school is unprofessional. I'm paying money every month to send my children here, and there is constant noon dismissal. Every time I go to pick up my child, there is a little one being sent back from the principal's office, crying, unsupervised. The "room mom" literally yelled at me in front of other parents while the teachers and principal stood and watched. I feel very uncomfortable even coming to campus because of how I am treated. Four days out of five, she is in tears when I pick her up because her teacher yelled at her. I was inclined not to believe her, as children can be dramatic, however, I now know it is fact. Her teacher is too lazy to supervise and informed me she needed Velcro shoes until she learns to tie them. Unprofessional, mean, and all unwilling to teach children for an entire day. Not worth the money! Even if this school was publicly funded I would pull them out.

Our family moved to Sacred Heart three years ago. We're happy we made that decision. My children significantly changed their behaviors. From being so loud to.being calm. The teachers are all mother-like, so caring and loving. But the best feature of the school is their academic program. We're impressed of their Accelerated Math program from Grades 3-8. Students attend Math and Reading classes based on their level. My children are moved to their next grade in both classes. The school has a number of teacher assistants... From Kibdergarten to Fifth grade. The facility is also the best... The Science lab and the computer lab are well-equipt. The Music and PE programs are excellent. I just wish all these will be maintained no matter who would lead the school. But of course, all these became possible with Mrs. Benner's leadership. Congrats to SHS faculty and staff... Keep up!!!

This is an amazing environment for children to build upon their faith that is practiced by teachers and students in actions, along with superior academics taught by caring teachers. My children learned more than I could have possibly hoped in character-building with moral values, and continued academic achievements.

Strong Catholic Faith and warm friendly family feeling school. Best campus in Ventura! The high tech computer room rocks! Alumni excel in high school with honor classes.

A great place to send your Children. Where the love of God, Family and Education come together in one! No other place like it in the County. My children look forward to go to school each day.

The program at Sacred Heart School is fantastic. The academics are superior, the staff is encouraging and nurturing, and the students excel! We feel so fortunate to belong to this school community. Our kids will transcend because of their experiences at Sacred Heart School.

I should say I was a parent here. After reading some of the comments here about this school and how others here 'perceive' other schools I had to reply to the comments. I was a parent at this school and am happy to report that our family has left it. My children have attended Ventura Unified Public schools ever since and are so much happier and enriched for it. I pulled my daughter out when I realized that there were some teachers there that did not have respect for their students and treated them very poorly, never mind credentials. As far as religious education, there was very little at the time, isn't that why we paid the big bucks? The principal that was there at the time did not run the school, others did. Since then our family has left this parish.

I have had three daughters go through Sacred Heart K thru 8 and my fourth is in her 7th year at the school. We have found that their faith based education has served them well as they go on to public schooling and life.

I would rate Sacred Heart School as one of the best private schools in Ventura. The Staff is great and always on hand to help our children. Before, during and after school. We have been at this school since kingergarten and both of my kids have done very well. The student s at the school have also learned to respect others and themselves. I don't see this at other schools. They have an accelerated math program which really makes the kids work and pushes them to do more and more. Science as well is very big. Middle school kids have to do projects and get judge, Many go on to the State Science awards. Sacred Heart School is a cut above the rest just the best.

This school lacks many things, but first and foremost is a principal who can lead. Also, all but one or two of the teacher, are unacceptable. Many are burned out and could care less about your child. This is supposed to be a catholic school, but it is far from it.

A definite cut above most of the elementary and middle schools in the area. Specifically, the three middle school teachers are excellent in keeping our kids focused and engaged in all the subject areas being taught. Most kids are even enthusiastic about what they are being taught which is something you don't see often in most schools. Extracurricular activities are also above average. As a parent, I have always found that the school encourages our involvement in the school and has communicated with us clearly about the academic development of out child. This is a 5 Star School!

What a great alternative! We expected more, and we got it! We are so thankful to the excellent principal, teachers, staff, and parents. The academics, arts, music, P.E., library, computer lab, school band, daycare, sports, etc. exceed our expectations. Additionally, our daughter is learning to help others by volunteering at a nearby special education school and with seniors. She has blossomed!

poor school. education is not as important as religion here. the classes are too crowded and the teachers are overwhelmed. I am not theonly parent who feels this way.

I have sent my sone here since Kindergarten and I wouldn't change schools. Their academic studies exceed those of other schools in our area and the parent involvement is huge! I am very pleased with the fact that parents are a huge part of the childrens education whether it be working in the classroom or watching them at lunch and recess.
