I should say I was a parent here. After reading some of the comments here about this school and how others here 'perceive' other schools I had to reply to the comments. I was a parent at this school and am happy to report that our family has left it. My children have attended Ventura Unified Public schools ever since and are so much happier and enriched for it. I pulled my daughter out when I realized that there were some teachers there that did not have respect for their students and treated them very poorly, never mind credentials. As far as religious education, there was very little at the time, isn't that why we paid the big bucks? The principal that was there at the time did not run the school, others did. Since then our family has left this parish.

I have had three daughters go through Sacred Heart K thru 8 and my fourth is in her 7th year at the school. We have found that their faith based education has served them well as they go on to public schooling and life.

I would rate Sacred Heart School as one of the best private schools in Ventura. The Staff is great and always on hand to help our children. Before, during and after school. We have been at this school since kingergarten and both of my kids have done very well. The student s at the school have also learned to respect others and themselves. I don't see this at other schools. They have an accelerated math program which really makes the kids work and pushes them to do more and more. Science as well is very big. Middle school kids have to do projects and get judge, Many go on to the State Science awards. Sacred Heart School is a cut above the rest just the best.

This school lacks many things, but first and foremost is a principal who can lead. Also, all but one or two of the teacher, are unacceptable. Many are burned out and could care less about your child. This is supposed to be a catholic school, but it is far from it.
