There is not a single thing I dont like about this school. My daughter is doing so well & I have the teachers to thank for it. THey are caring & spend a great amount of time with each student. When there is an issue of any sort thye make sure that you are aware of it right aware. THey kids are all kind & friendly with not a worry of a bully. THe office staff makes sure they get your name & try to remember you to call you by name when they see you next. 2 thumbs up all around!
We have two children. Our home at Ventura Missionary School is in it's 7th year. Our oldest child is in high school now and was able to excell in advanced placement classes right out of VMS. Strengths are language arts, math and spanish. Our younger child is excelling in math and bible. The point I want to make is that the teachers are wonderful and will go above and beyond to help our children succeed. There are teachers offering tutoring after school, once or twice a week. Especially if a child is struggling, or is catching up from being out sick. Yes, there could be homework on weekends, depending on a bookreport, class project, or what sports or activities your child is in. The principal is smart and a strong leader, yet a tender heart and a good listener with all the students. The receptionist and office staff are warm, friendly, and ready to help. Parents can be active on campus or on field trips, outdoor education, and PTF (Parent, Teacher, Fellowship). Ventura Missionary School has been a blessing to our family.
I have 2 children that attend this school and I can't imagine them being anywhere else. The teachers are caring, professional, and all are credentialed. They truly care about each child; spiritually, academically, and socially. My children have been very well prepared in all academic subjects, scoring at least two grade levels above their current grade on standardized tests. They thoroughly enjoy the art, music, computer, and spanish programs. The Day School principal is outstanding. She always has the best interests of the students, staff, and parents in mind. It has been money very well spent!!!
I have 3 children in this school and it has been the most wonderful experience. The Day School Principal is sincere and caring. She bends over backwards to give the student the benifit of the doubt when it comes to disciplinary actions. She is open to meet with all parents about any comment, concern, or question. All the Day School teachers are credentialed which is extremly rare for Private Schools. The teachers treat the students as individuals who try to meet the student's personal needs. They genuinly care about children. This school has weekly art, music, computer, spanish classes and a library. One of the best parental choices we ever made!
K-3 low english, grammar kids are unprepared for 4th & 5th. Yes the teachers are great, the curriculum does not give them freedom for bending. A lot of paper pushing, homework through weekends should be expected, losing time with family. Middle School teachers are awesome, low math, english is in the middle score. Principal is inconsistent in giving out consequences. Unfortunately, not a warm outgoing type either. Office greeter, judgmental best to be on good side or not good for you.
My Daughter is here and she is amazing.Teachers encourage Kids not only to be good students but good people.
The Best School! The Teachers are beyond great. The parent involvement is outstanding. The bond and respect the children have with the teachers and staff is amazing. It's like one big family. The level of education is wonderful. Having the opportunity to educate my children with a strong moral backing and a love for our community, music and the arts is a blessing.
VMS was a wonderful experience for my children. Teachers were organized, communicated well, and delivered qualilty lessons. Fourth grade becomes a challenge with the amount of curriculum covered. Amount of homework given can be a shock, however the teachers do a great job at teaching responsibility. Wonderful music and art program for elementary students. Level of parent involvement is outstanding. My family was sad to leave...we moved out of the area.
Great School! Great teachers!
I have a very happy third grader who is in her second year at VMS. She is challenged and thriving and there is a consistant positive and encouraging environment at this school. She tests at the high school level and continues to be challenged at her grade level because of ongoing tasks that continously keep her thinking. I am very pleased with this school and her continued achievement there.
