Stanley G. Oswalt Elementary School has the greatest standards in the district. They push students to be the best that they can be. Also, the Apple 1:1 Program for the school is just great. It's a good learning experience.

Oswalt enhances each student's academic achievements. It sets the standard of excellence for the community as well as the country. The teachers and staff are extraordinary and are to be commended for their commitment to excellence. Oswalt is the best!

The teachers care about their students and go out of their ways to make the school curriculum interesting with hands on materials: technologies; current computer softwares, laptop programs for every student starting from the fifth grade.

My children are new to Oswalt Academy K-8. I am very impressed with the principal, teachers, parents and students. There is great communication with each other through email and in person. My son is a fifth grader and loves the apple one program they offer. I just received a review of my child's progress through snapgrades.net and I can't say enough about this school and all involved. The Pricipal and Teachers really show how much they care for the future of our children. The PTSA is amazing! They encourage you to get involve and participate. My children love going to school!!!

The new name is Stanley G. Oswalt Academy; it's a k-8, not k-6 anymore. It is a good school with caring teachers & staffs. Academically strong. The kids love to go to school, that means the school is doing something right!

We have a highly trained and exemplary staff of teachers and support staff who truly teach to the individual student. We have a rigorous curriculum that is inquiry based so that the students can learn to 'think outside the box'. Our students are incredible human beings who come to school every day ready to be challenged and eager to take on whatever will make them successful at the end of the school day. We have a very strong PTSA who support teachers and students in every realm of the educational process. Parents and the community members are an important support system to the education of all children on our campus. We have two administrators that guide and keep us focused and uplifted throughout our teaching experience at Oswalt. They are true educators who keep the teachers informed and up to date with the latest strategies and processes of teaching methods and especially educate the parents in regards to their child's education at Oswalt. They are truly, what is considered, 'hands-on' administrators who care and take pride in every aspect of the campus structure.

well its not K-6 anymore its a K-8 and our students don't have sports privaleges like most middle schools so we need ths prize money to give our middle school students the oppurtunity to have sports

Walnut's Stanley G. Oswalt Elementary School is consistenly ranked one of the top K-6 schools in CA (if not in the nation) for its academics program, quality of faculty and staff, great PTA and students, and much more... Stanley G. Oswalt is no longer a K-6, it is a K-8 school this year. Go Oswalt!

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
