We love this school!! My son been attending Southland since three years old. It's a God loving school with excellent principal and staff!! We love all the teachers and couldn't have asked for more supportive and loving environment. The school is an affordable institute with upholding high standards. Both of my children have been at Southlands from preschool. My daughter graduated from Southlands 5 years ago and my son is in high school now. Academically Southlands is very strong. My daughter went to UCI and got her bachelor degree in 3 years. Southlands had prepared her well academically. Low student to teacher ratio allows more quality learning time. Excellent drama (theatre) class and sports programs.

I have been attending southlands for a few years now, the quality of the school has gone done by a lot! Too many international students, local kids are the minority, no wonder they seem antisocial. Most people I know dislike the school. Some , well, a lot of students arent treated fairly. Many teachers (not all tho) are very disrespectful. The office does bad work, most don't do job well, some teachers are same, not equipped to teach. The Christian part of south lands is nonexistent, everyone Buddhist! Elementary is ok (my sibling) but middle and high school are very bad. If you wanted to be treated fairly and with respect, do not recommend. Most kids hate this school and are miserable.

Students are so friendly. Some students never study at all. So the school expel at least 10 students each semester.

There are too many international students, especially Chinese students in high school. Over 85% high school students are international. In 9th grade, only one girl is American. Most local students are not so willing to talk with international student. It's not a good choice for international students.

In response to "i would not recommend this school to anybody especially international students because of non refundable tuition policy." The policy is fully disclosed in the application process for international students only. Local students are not subject to this policy. The non-refundable policy exists because the school hires ELL teachers and staff based on the number of student that enroll at the beginning of the school year. It would not be fair to faculty to cut their salaries or lay them off because of students who want to leave school on a whim. The school provide an excellent school environment for our international students based on these types of policies.

This is an excellent school that is committed to their community. They have many events benefiting Walnut, Rowland Heights, Hacienda Heights and Diamond Bar. Their e-Waste recycling events, Rowland Heights Food Truck Fiesta, Buckboard Days Parade float, Kiwanis Club of Hacienda Heights donation, Parent/Staff participation in Community outreach is an example of how they exist to make our community a better place through education and community involvement.

i would not recommend this school to anybody especially international students because of non refundable tuition policy. Before i-20 is even issued tuition has to be paid so if at all you change your mind about the school...you lose you money. No way to run a business

We have been part of the Southlands Christian Schools family since 2000. The school has lived up to its mission of educating students in excellence and integrity, with the administrator, principals, and teachers leading by example. Our children benefit from all-round education that encompasses outstanding academic curricular, impressive Christian-based moral values, and excellent sports activities. We are indeed proud of the school s achievements.

This week I attended a Parent Teacher Conference and my experience reinforced the many reasons why I decided to put my children at this school. The character of the leadership and quality of education came through with every teacher interaction, as we reviewed my daughters performance. The Principal was present, ready to answer any questions, and every student review started with a quick prayer. Parents were actively involved with their children's education as we all went from teacher to teacher. I saw many a hug, celebrating children's academic success, and parents seemed pretty happy to be there. The staff at Southlands has truly shown the meaning of 'servant leadership' through their dedication to my girls' studies, and the balance they bring with the extracurricular activities and sports involvement. As a mother I feel I have a true partner with Southlands Christian Schools.

Our family is so blessed to be a part of the Southlands Family! The leadership of our school has not only created a safe loving environment for our children, but they have also established clear priorities for the parents and families. Southlands has provided excellence in academics; even more important, there is a Godly desire to teach our children how to excel spiritually in a world whose moral compass is deteriorating every day. Simply put this is a real Christian school!

Southlands is an academically advanced (college prep) high school that has a welcoming and friendly student body. Be prepared to work hard. Teachers are kindhearted and motivating, and the students love them. This is a wonderfully multicultural school that teaches all can succeed, all can lead and all can impact our communities for the Glory of God. I know that my time at Southlands has encouraged me to grow in all areas of my life.

Southlands Christian School is an excellent school where students not only grow academically and socially, but spiritually as well. Southlands believes in excellence in all they do and provide a wide variety of extra-curricular activities as well as strong academics. Fine Arts is an important part of Southlands as all students from Kindergarten-5th grade have a general music class and students from 3rd grade-high school have the opportunity to sing in a choir. The teachers at Southlands are all very qualified Godly teachers who teach from a Biblical perspective. Southlands will provide your student with the tools they need to be successful in life.

Southlands Christian Schools offer a quality education with the added benefit of building character and leadership skills in a Christian setting. Both the administration and teachers strive to work with each student to maximize his or her potential as well as maintain a high level of academic excellence. A wide variety of extracurricular activities, especially at the secondary level, provide students with many opportunities to expand their horizons. Highly recommended!

Southlands Christian Schools Christ-centered education is refreshing and much needed in current times. Faculty and staff demonstrate an honest and legitimate love for God that is reflected in their daily actions and interaction with community, parents, and students. I am a proud SCS parent who does not hesitate to recommend the school to others.

Both of my sons went through Southlands Christian Schools from kindergarten through high school and were well prepared for their selected universities. The fundamentals of classroom instruction from elementary to high school is a springboard for university studies. Teachers instruct in Christian character and biblical truths as well, which enables students to have a balance of academics and spiritual instruction for life.

My family loves this school. We have been part of Southlands for 10 years and have always been happy but never happier than we are right now with Glenn Duncan as administrator. He has a drive for excellence and a heart for our diverse community. I work closely with the curriculum and am very impressed at the scope and quality of the curriculum used on this campus from K-12th grade. Our students get the very latest and best curriculum. It is constantly being reviewed and upgraded. I feel secure knowing that my children are prepared for college when they leave Southlands.

Southlands Christian Schools has been an incredible blessing to our family. Both of my boys attend the school because I know it is a place where they will be loved, taught to love God, and encouraged to love learning. Education is incredibly important for a young person's future, and that education must be whole person-body, soul, and spirit. Southlands Christian School, in very practical ways, does an incredible job at educating the whole person. Their goals are not just academic success, but success for each student as a child of God in today's world. I believe the education my boys receive will play a key role in leading them to follow God and to reach whatever level of influence in society that God calls them to. It is an incredible blessing for my children to attend this school.

As a former principal of a Christian School, I have made Southlands the school of choice when recommending a school to parents that are looking for a broad, full-range program that included a challenging curriculum, AP Courses, accreditation, a competitive sports program, all within a Christian environment. Additionally, it is worthy to be noted, that when there is a core group of families that have remained over the course of their students entire elementary and high school years, there is obviously good reason; parents are happy and satisfied with the school s programs. All said, Southlands Christian Schools comes highly recommended for parents that desire a competitive and thorough education with lots of extras! Mrs. Donna Daigle

I have one son who graduated from the high school and was accepted into the 'Tory' Honors Program at Biola along with two others, another two were also accepted into the Christian University. I currently have a son, a senior, who has been accepted into the any SC college of his choice for maintaining a continuous high grade point average. He has also been recognized by the National Hispanic Latino Association for his academic aceivement. I believe the Christian atmosphere and AP classes, enabled my sons to acheive what God. intended for them. -Parent

My husband and I have been so pleased with our children s experience at Southlands, we feel that they are receiving a first class Christian education. Southlands has continued to exceed all the surrounding public and Christian schools in curriculum and spiritual training. We do not feel that our children are missing out on any experiences being at Southlands, in fact, they are getting more teacher attention as well as the updated training and technology offered in the classroom. It is a blessing to know that the teachers are so concerned about my children, their education and our family as well. I would consider no other place to work or for my children to attend, they will truly be prepared to be leaders in the 21st century thanks to this precious school.

The principal and teachers put students first and hold them to high academic standards with continued support. The tuition rate has significantly increased for adminstrative reasons and unfortunate for the school as their priority is now unclear.

The school has significantly declined in the past 2 academic years. It has declined it its purpose in moral, ethical and religious traing as well. The high school has significantly declined due to the administrator/superindendents decisions to removed great teachers and replace them . Overall the school is now being run like a business and not according to its original purposes and goals. Money is now the key factor and not anything else.

Great education and strong spriitual christian enviroment at the elementry grades. Dedicated Teachers that are biblically based at the elementary level. Same for Jr Hi but limited in comparison to public schools (Southpoint, Suzanne and Chapparal). High School has dedicated teachers but it is extremely limited on its activities because of its size of only 105 students. Generally good spritual influence but significant negative changes are occuring.

This would be a good K-5th grade school, but when middle school comes, you should find a new school. There is advanced math from 3-5th grade. It is a good school though. They have an excellent music program that everyone should try.
