Look at the ratings!! In my opinion, best school around hands down! Teachers are awesome. Students are on top of their grades and well behaved. Principal is always finding ways to improve the school. Parents are very well involved. Way to go SJCA!! For the "Mother of the Kinder" (gave one star); PLEASE do us a favor and pull your kid and take him/her along with your sorry attitude to another school. Bye!

My daughter graduated last fall from SJCA . All nine years of elementary school were completed there. The staff (including Dr. P.) is by far the best in the WCUSD. Having our older son attend Monte Vista years ago,SJCA is light years ahead of most schools in the district. While you may not agree with everything Dr. P. does, she is trying to be fair and equitible to all parties concerned. I have even suggested to the school board that the model of sucess at SJCA should be applied district wide. EVERY child is entitled to the best education available. This is a school worthy of National recognition. 5 stars plus.....

There will always be disgruntled parents at any school. Having said that, SJCA is a wonderful school! The principal and staff do everything in their power to help students achieve. There are programs and interventions in place to help all children succeed, not just the high achievers. It's by far the best school around and anyone lucky enough to get their child enrolled should do whatever they can to help improve the school, not bring it down. Keep up the good work SJCA!

As a mother of a kinder in San jose, I will give the lowest rating of the teacher, the principle and the staff. very unprofessional, very aggressive, impolite and very impatient, especially a temporary teacher Mr. Salazar. She kept shouting at students who don't follow her directions and complained a lot. If they don't like your child, they will do everything to kick you out of their school. Very bad experience. Please treat your students nicely. Be more patient. PLEASE, no shouting at a kinder....................

This school is awesome! i've been trying to get my kids in for a long time. And the Principal is nice too, she doesn't talk down to you, or make you feel less than (like a lot of people in power positions do). My child was struggling and she has done everything in her power to help her!, even offered to help my other child who isn't enrolled yet. The whole atmosphere there is different from other schools I've seen. Even the parents are happy. I definitely recommend this school :)

"TREBBLE" COME ON!! Too bad you feel the way you do and gave 3 stars. BUT PLEASE do us (AND YOURSELF) a favor and go back to night school. Next time you write junk, make sure you ask for help from someone that can actually read & write and check your work. Beware ! The Principal, Only wants students who's GPA in very high and will find away to get rid of a stundent who is just average. So if your child is not smart . He or she won't last there. Will be pressured to leave. Principal only care's about high rating's. One thing about the teachers there they are excellent.

I am a student at San Jose and I agree with other people who have reviewed it too.The teachers show respect to all children and are very dedicated to helping us learn.I've been here since kindergarden and I haven't found any complaints.I LOVE SJCA!!!
My daughter is in Mrs. Henry's class and I have to say I am extremely pleased with the level of professionalism and dedication that Mrs. Henry shows! She is firm but fair and has nothing but the best interest for her/our students.. I believe that Mrs. Henry shows the core values that SJEA expects from it's teachers and students.. I have nothing but respect and kind words for all of our teachers!!!!

San Jose Edison Academy is a first-rate school due to the leadership of a great administration team - Dr. Patton, Ms. Palos, Ms. Shiroma, Ms. Hale. All of the San Jose staff and teachers do such a tremendous job of fostering a healthy and stimulating learning environment for our children. The teachers and parents work closely together bringing out the best in all students. Additionally, parental involvement is high thanks to the most incredible PTA I have ever seen. This school is truly a wonderful place to be and we are so fortunate that our kids attend such a top notch school!

SJEA is a great school! Two of my kids are in high school and are doing great. One is a Senior at I-poly and another one is at West Covina High School. Both are above the school standards thanks to the education they received at San Jose Edison. I still have two more at SJEA one in 7th grade and my baby on 5th grade. I'm very happy with the teacher and specially with the great leadership from Dr Patton; she is a wonderfull leader. Very happy and proud to have all my children at San Jose Edison Academy!!!

i lived here all my life and i have one grandson and one daughter that graduated from this school and another daughter how is still attending and i cant thank the school enough for their dedication and passion for there individual attention my daughter is in i poly high now and it fits her well because of how they prepare her.

In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled.
