Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

This is a great school! Both my children attend and I could not be happier. I hold a doctorate degree and can identify quality education. In addition, I have specific personal standars that a school must meet for my choldren to attend. This school meets and exceeds these standards. From fresh, hot meals delivered delivered daily to the quality of education to personal attention my children receive, everything at this school is on an exceptionally high level. As a result, my children are thriving and I could not be more proud.

This is a very low quality school. Ella and Igor, the owners, wanted to charge me more money so that my child would get a better grade. I spoke to one of their teachers, and she told me that there is really nothing taught at the school. Do not send your child here.

This school does not really care about their students. They will tell parents false information just to get students enrolled. The general quality of the school is very low. The principal even falsely claims to have a Ph.D, which she did not earn.

There is not much to say, you have to see it yourself. It's not a school, it is a tutoring service for foreign students, mostly Russian and Ukrainian.

As a parent of two bright bi-lingual girls (5 and 8 years old), I am very conscious of their need for an interesting and stimulating education. I am also desirous of our kids receiving and maintaining their Russian matriculation. West Hollywood College Preparatory School has been the answer to my search. The school provides a focused, attentive approach to learning while maintaining rigorous standards. I have been astounded by how thorough an education my kids are receiving. Math, English, Science, Social Studies, Character Development, Art, Music, Drama, and Russian are but a few of their regular classes. I also appreciate several factors which support children's education at WHCP. The classes are small and the teachers and administration are caring and attuned to the students' individual needs. Children have three nutritious meals and a snack every day. The school offers after-school program with homework preparation and enrichment classes. The campus is secure with a buzzer/ closed-circuit TV system and a parent sign-in roster to get in and out. I d like to thank WHCP administration and staff for creating an all-encompassing safe learning environment for my daughters.

My grandson is absolutely happy in this school. Three languages, science and math were tought in the first grade at an advaced level. The school is great for kids who enjoy challenges and hard work and are focused on academic avenues for future education. My grandson was transfered here after some time spent in a competetive public school. We have to cover long distances every day but the experience is worth it.

Great for pre-k and K classes only. The level of teaching is low, because administration doesn't want to spend much on qualified teachers. Homework extent is poor and kids are very spoiled there. I'm pulling my 2 kids to a normal school where the discipline and subjects are learned with honor. Dissatisfied and unhappy for the money spent there.

I am very happy that I transferred my son from public school to West Hollywood College Prep. The progress is amazing on both academics and social levels. The best compliment to this school would be the statement of my son that he is really regretting he could not attend this school from 1st grade because he d learned much more.

I am extremely pleased with the level of education and care the school provides. My two children currently attend West Hollywood Prep and they LOVE their teachers and their classes. The teachers tailor their communication style individually to each child, which I love. One style does not fit all, especially for my children, and the teachers know how to deal with my kids individually based on their personalities. They believe in a high level of learning and discipline while also being sensitive to a child's needs. My kids attend the pre-school and have learned a tremendous amount. Further, I am particularly impressed with how clean they keep the school and the healthy organic foods they provide!!! Their hours are also very accomodating for working parents. Anyway, love the school!

My son currently attends West Hollywood College Prep and I am absolutely thrilled with his progress. This school offers everything from knowledgeable and caring teachers, as well as support staff, to a nurturing environment where my child can feel comfortable and confident. Furthermore, my brother has attended and graduated from this school as well. Although he is now in a university, he remembers the school fondly and often reminisces about the wonderful teachers and the knowledge he continues to carry with him.

The West Hollywood College Preparatory School is a great and unique example of a successfully functioning efficient educational institution developed in our age of educational depression. This school is a convince proof of our ability to secure bright future for our bright kids. It accommodates all main parent needs: a challenge modern American educational curriculum based on the rigor California standards, caring competent administration, professional teachers, an individual approach to students helping them to reach the highest level of their abilities, the top level of security, clean and light full classrooms. My daughter is a fifth grade student at this school. She constantly enjoys the teachers attention and care. Every single day every single homework and classroom assignment is checked and explicit direct instructions are provided. I really appreciate the administration and the teacher s professional dedication and hard work. Thanks! Igor Subbotin, PhD, Professor of Mathematics

My son is in the second grade now and I am very surprised how he advanced in the last years he spent in this school. He learned not only academics that he would learn as well in our neighborhood public school but he learned how to play chess, he learned Spanish and Russian. He is writing short English essays (book reports) and his Math level is one grade higher. This is one of the rare occasions when I know that I don't waste my money. I am much happier with this school than with the public Carpenter Avenue Elementary School that my daughter attended six years ago.

This is an amazing school! It fuses the best of both American and Russian ways of teaching. The result is excellent education with freedom of thought and expression. The classes are small and kids feel cozy and loved. Everyone receives personalized attention. As per extracurricular activities, yoga, chess, dance, drama just to name a few are available to all and are a part of an avarage day at DAS. Tuition includes 3 meals (mostly home cooked)and a healthy snack. But all of this is minor compared to the education, care and love the children receive at this school. DAS went above and beyond all my expectations.
