Larchmont Charter West Hollywood has been excellent for my son. He is extremely bright and I feel that the school has been amazing at developing him as a whole person. Just one example I see among all the kids: they are not afraid of public speaking or performing. Since they were kindergartners they have gotten up with and in front of their peers (often the whole school) and are comfortable doing so. Seeing it will blow you away! My son is in 4th grade and I feel we are so lucky to be a part of this amazing school. Thanks to the teacher, and other parents and especially the principal for making it truly great!

I could not be happier with my children's school. My daughter attended a private school for her first 3 years and this school is, in many ways, even better. There is a diversity among the student body, the teachers are enthusiastic, and incorporating gardening and cooking into the curriculum is genius.

We were so lucky to win the lottery last year for kindergarten! We can't find the better school for our daughter who loves everything about her school, including the warmest classroom teacher, arts, yoga, PE,gardening and cooking and an awesome music class twice a week. We toured many schools including private schools even though we couldn't afford them.Along the research,I became familiar with the constructive learning theory which was adopted by a popular UCLA Lab school, which we also went to see,and which is truly implemented at our own school!! So grateful for the curriculum, incredible teachers and the principal and the school environment in which each child is respected and encouraged to be independent and an active learner. We commute for over 30minutes one way,but it so worth it!

My daughter started kindergarten here in Sept. 2011. She really enjoys the school and loves her teacher. The principal is wonderful and the community is warm and welcoming. Through the Edible School Yard, swiss chard is now a weekly vegetable in our house. Couldn't be happier! We really did win the lottery!

Terrific school. Great teachers and leadership. Diverse and eager students. Cool programs (Edible Schoolyard) and all the goodies missing from "regular" schools these days (physical education, art, music). I hope someday that when the school is bigger they will have a librarian-educator for their collection. And really, awesome, caring, and totally engaged parents. Plus, no prison food!

I love this school because it makes my nephew happy and gives him a good diverse school to attend with attentive teachers and good people.
Each child is considered individually in thier learning "process". The benefits of this are very apparent to this grand parent. The fearlessness a child will engage in learning also comes with personal success. My grandson Aidan's joy in his first year of school goes beyond what he realizes. Academics and the excitement to tackle the tough questions start the day our child walks into school on the first day.
An amazing progressive education with strong parent participation.

My husband & I love this school for many reasons: the enthusiastic teachers, the small classes, the great parent community, the value systems provided by the Edible Schoolyard program, the organic, communal lunches attended by parents on a daily basis, the yoga, the cooking classes, the gardening classes. Most of all, we love it for Principal Kristin Droege b/c she truly "gets" children.

My son attends Kindergarten at LCW and my wife and I could not be any happier with the dedication of the teachers and staff as well as the community spirit that thrives at the school. We cannot wait until all of our children are able to attend the school. LCW really should be a model for communities to use when wading into the realm of establishing local charter schools.

My grandson attends LCW, I am grateful for the personal care and dedication of the teachers and staff toward all their students.
The children are blessed to have this school!
LCW is a relatively new and innovative school that is energetically vibrant and motivated to excel. The focus is on nurturing our children's creativity and emotional development while challenging them intellectually. All the while, creating a warm community of sharing between staff, students and parents. It is a very special experience for my daughter and for us.

This is a new charter school in the West Hollywood area that started in 2008. The school is amazing. The principal is so involved, approachable, and knowledgeable in the area of early education. The school is very strong academically and also focuses on the whole child. The curriculum includes the edible schoolyard where the children work in the garden and kitchen classroom weekly, music, physical education, yoga and enrichment classes after school. The school is diverse, the parents are involved and the teaching staff is enthusiastic. The best part is that my child loves going to school everyday. What else can you ask from your school.
