LCW is a relatively new and innovative school that is energetically vibrant and motivated to excel. The focus is on nurturing our children's creativity and emotional development while challenging them intellectually. All the while, creating a warm community of sharing between staff, students and parents. It is a very special experience for my daughter and for us.
This is a new charter school in the West Hollywood area that started in 2008. The school is amazing. The principal is so involved, approachable, and knowledgeable in the area of early education. The school is very strong academically and also focuses on the whole child. The curriculum includes the edible schoolyard where the children work in the garden and kitchen classroom weekly, music, physical education, yoga and enrichment classes after school. The school is diverse, the parents are involved and the teaching staff is enthusiastic. The best part is that my child loves going to school everyday. What else can you ask from your school.
my children love going to school at LCW! great teaching philosophy, economic as well as ethnic diversity and people who care about education for all children, not just their own.
I Love Larchmont Charter School-West Hollywood sooooo, because all the staff go above and beyond, daily, for our children. LCW has made a vast difference in my son's life, and in our lives. This new charter school has so much to offer... it has a hands-on curriculum with a focus on the whole child, gardening, yoga, cooking class, music, and wonderful enrichment classes after school. The principal is AMAZING, and what an inspiration for the parents. Wonderful parent involvement. Our son absolutely adores going to LCW!

The teachers and staff could not be more nurturing and wonderful to my child. The curriculum actually does engage every child.
A dynamic, dedicated teaching staff and parents who truly care about creating a community of acceptance and involvement make this a wonderful place for children to learn and grow!
Amazing school! It's a new charter school, so all the parents are very involved (not in an obnoxious, controlling way). A brilliant Principal spearheads the whole operation. The whole teaching staff is well-educated, thoughtful, warm, attentive. The school is thorough on reading, writing, math, etc. but also includes the edible schoolyard program so they get to work in a garden and understand healthy food and healthy eating. They also have music, phys. ed., yoga, etc. The students represent a variety of ethnicities and economic backgrounds. I can't say enough about this great school.
It's a loving, organic, arts filled school that also teaches morals and values...amazing school!
I love the class sizes, teaching to the individual child where each child gets to work at their level and is always challenged.
Individual attention to each child. This school is like a private school without paying a million dollars! I love the parent involvement. The staff and students are amazing!
This is an amazing school all they do for the students and the students are exceptional.
What a relief! A great, community-minded, academically focused school with tremendous parent involvement and an emphasis on healthy habits. The Principal, Dr. Kristin Droege is well informed, accessible and generall fantastic. All teachers are enthusiastic and caring and they all have graduate degrees! A great school in the WeHo area.
I love the constructivist philosophy, I love the fantastic principal, I love the Edible School Yard program, and I love that my daughter loves going to school and adores her teachers.
What an amazing school! This school opened in September of 2008. The principal is driven and an excellent communicator. The teachers are top notch, and the parents are very dedicated. My child looks forward to school and even asks if it's a school day on Saturday. (Not the case at preschool). Next school year the school will implement Alice Waters' Chez Panisse Foundation's Edible Schoolyard. The kids will grow, prepare and eat their food and their experiences will be integrated into the curriculum. We fill lucky to have gotten in on the ground floor.
