My husband and I are both alumni and are very involved at the school. The recent budget cuts has affected EVERY WUSD school. The Principal and Vice Principal, staff and teachers (most) are working very hard with what they have. The Athletic department is running on a shoe-string budget with lots of parent and volunteer support! They have really improved their communication via weekly "all-calls" and awesome website (parent volunteer). A significant improvement is "Goose Island, Honkerville, USA" branding with MASCOT Herkimer! Volunteer help on beautification projects all over campus, especially the sprinkler system and new grass to the Track and fencing and new entrance to the Football Field!

I have 2 kids that have graduated from WHS. Eldest is in graduate school at CSU Chico. 3rd child a junior in WHS. Great school. Overall good environment. Wonderful sports for both sexes. Good, quality teachers, coaches and administration for the most part. 1 or 2 over the years could have been better. Lots of parent involvement. Great boosters group. Happy memories.
