Intelligent teachers who care
I love it for the teachers and how all students behave so nicely!
As a Friend of the Quechan Indian reservation school, it helps promotes good education.
As a former student of San Pasqual I agree that years ago this school was not a place that I would have wanted my children to attend. The system has changed alot, they have better curriculum and the teachers are more involved with the students.
I was once a student at this school, and I can tell you that most classes are not really being taught at the proper grade level, and that this school definitely did not prepare me for college. Classes are not challenging and there is no attendance and tardy policy. Not to mention, the kids have no respect for their teachers or peers. These kids are not held accountable for anything. That's why most of them grow up and have a difficult time functioning in a realistic world. The students have a great deal of potential, but administrators aren't there to encourage them to grow. They are only there for their paychecks and career advancement. I would not recommend anyone sending their child to this school K-12, if they really care about their childs ed. and safety. It is not a safe and school enrichment environment. This place is a complete nightmare!
In spite of issues, some student due exceptionally well, to include one who entered and graduated from Harvard U. The teachers are world class, very educated, staff work very hard. Unfortunately administration gets a little political in this sometimes socially hostile community. In this charged NCLB era, how much is the school (and the gov't) supposed to be responsible for student performance, as opposed to the parent(s) and the individual. Anyone can learn if chooses.
I think this school is great, as a student who is the top of her class I have good, challenging class. The student to teacher ratio is good and there are tutors in the core classes. I know parents in AZ who want to send their kids to SP but they don't have the right paperwork for it. Sure we don't have music but we have clubs and a great sports program. By the way the kids that go to AZ schools could not handle our school for some reason.
This school is at the bottom of all rating systems, and rightfully so. Most parents that can manage will send their kids to the AZ schools instead.
