Woodlake is the best school ever!! I attended and graduated from this school and worked there. It really cares about the students, no matter who they are. They encourage them to do great. You see it every day. The teachers and counselors are outstanding. Students who leave WUHS become successful in any endeaver they try to achieve. I only wish that all of my grandchildren could go there. They have no idea what this school provides that they are not receiving where they go!!

The level of academic programs is certainly sufficient to challenge the brightest students, and an amazing percentage of students are prepared to enter the state university systems. WHS graduating seniors obtain about 1/2 million dollars in scholarship money every year based on their achievements and financial needs. There is a thriving sports program, and many clubs to involve students in leadership roles. The performing arts programs have been steadily building for a number of years. The instrumental music program is very strong and the choral music program is building rapidly. Excellent programs at the feeder middle school account for much of this success. The district administration is extremely supportive the arts as well as academics. Because of the high degree of poverty in this community, parent involvement is not what you would find in a larger city, but there are a smaller number of dedicated parents who work tirelessly for WHS.

Woodlake although is a very good school it lacks leader ship not from students which I observe as great but from the Principle who seems never to be there for the students. Other staff members on the other hand are a great asset to the school and without them most students would not be where they are today. Teachers such as Mr. Hire the assistant principle and Sally Pace the dean of students. The teachers show excellent qualification for their jobs such as being bilingual and knowing what they speak of, teachers such as Mr. Rodriguez, Mr. Glenzer, Mrs. Hoyt, Mr. Palomo, Mr. Carlson, Mrs. Lucatero, Mr. Jenkins, Mrs. Bussel, and many more whose tireless efforts have made many students the succesfull men and women that they are today. Woodlake is also known for their great programs that help students that had just came here such as IET.

Woodlake High School is the best high school in the country. The community gets so involved and supports the school 110%. I am an Alumni of the high school and I will always support the school. There is no other school that I would have rather attended. The chemistry between the students and administration is great. The teachers are very supportive and willing to lend a hand to anyone. I plan on having my kids attend Woodlake High when they are old enough.
