YouthBuild Charter School of California is a unique charter school model that provides young adults at YouthBuild programs with an alternative to traditional school environments. Unlike traditional schools that employ standardized curriculum and classroom practices, YCSC's project-based approach allows young adults to take ownership of their education. Young people between the ages of 16-24 enroll at YCSC after having dropped out, aged out, or otherwise separated from the traditional school system. There are a total of 12 sites to choose from in Southern and Central California. Each site has its own personality, and it is up to the student and parent to determine which site best fits his/her needs.

A poor option for any student. Courses are innacurate. Staff is not knowledgable. Transcripts cannot be produces with accuracy. Perhaps this is a great continuation program for teens continually lost in the system, however it will not develop a student into a functional adult able to transition into an institute of higher learning.
