After I read the post with one star for Rockland, I couldn't help but laugh. That post is everything Rockland is NOT. As someone who works with several of the students of Rockland outside of the school, I can say this school, is one of the BEST schools I have ever been a part of. I wish I could have been so lucky to attend this academy. The environment provides love, support, and discipline required to excel in all areas of life. I have seen kids transform in such a short period of time being in this type of school. Not only does it prepare students to advance them in academia but the school has also integrated classes into the curriculum to push these students to the next level. Teaching them not only academia but life skills. I HIGHLY recommend checking out the school for yourself. I believe in this school so much and what it does that I am more than happy to provide my number to contact me personally to share even more RAVE reviews about this school: Desiree Luethy, Captivating Kids program: 818-312-7515

After adding my review, I went down and read others and to my shock, I found a review from an alleged parent of the school. Everything she/he says is utter nonsense. Many kids attend Rockland for a few years to prepare them for other schools. For example, one of their students is going on to Harvard Westlake and another will attend Buckley. Recently many of the Rockland students wrote the SATs aged between 10-12 and scored so highly most graduates would be red-faced. One of the boys came to the school after being suspended from another well respected school. He was bright but disruptive. Within weeks I saw a shift in his behavior and he soon transformed into a cooperative and happy young man. The positive changes in him are almost unbelievable. I am hired as a professional to teach public speaking at this school. I'm a multiple award-winning public speaking champion. I am a professional paid speaker and communications coach and it is such a privilege to teach this class at Rockland. As I said in my previous review, if you're considering a school for your kids, don't look further. It's a decision you will never regret.

Rockland Academy reignited my daughter's motivation and love of learning. She came to this program deflated and discouraged. Rockland Academy's personal and unique approach to education is exactly what she needed to get back on track. The teachers are passionate about teaching, and that translates into a student who is passionate about learning. I can't say enough about Rockland Academy! This is a phenomenal program.

Rockland Academy is a very special school with a very unique approach to teaching a child how to learn, developing a love for learning, and setting some deep foundations that will hopefully carry a child to a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. Both my children have enjoyed their experiences and hopefully will continue to grow as active learners.

My children have had a phenomenal, unparalled educational experience at Rockland. In addition to achieving academic excellence, Rockland has continued help my children grow in their love of learning. They are learning to take ownership of their education and a seed of internal motivation has been planted. There is not a day that goes by where my kids do not return home and excited to share what they have learned. The teachers, including the principal, are fully invested in the success of each of their students. I say success because in addition to academics, my children have grown in their character. They have experienced being challenged balanced with grace and unconditional acceptance. We feel fortunate to have found this school. As a child I attended a wonderful elementary and middle school where the principal intentionally spent time with each class. Those teaching times whether it was learning grammar, latin, or about the summer equinox and solar system have forever shaped how I view education and gave me a legacy of the love of learning. I have not found a school where the principal was so passionate about education like the one I grew up with until... Rockland.

Rockland Academy's teaching quality is like none other. Guaranteed you can not find another school like this. Exceptional one-on-one teaching! My child has been with this school from the beginning. This school gets down to the facts. Straight forward and no sugar-coating. If you don't want the plain truth, this is not the school for you. The owner/principal's two oldest children is a testament about higher education. They both attended this school and now attend West point. Talk about high caliber! If you want your child to excel and receive the best education, this is the place. I'm guessing the first reviewer has/had a problematic child at the school. It's a shame that as adults, we don't deal with our children's issues and puts the blame on others. You want exceptional teaching? This is the school!

I am not quite sure what this parent is talking about but I have had 2 children who attended this school and one child used this school for tutoring and they have had exceptional experiences at this school. Two of my children went to outstanding colleges and my other child got into a very prestigious high school. Our association with this school over the last 11 years will leave a lasting impression. Thank you Rockland Academy!

This school and their tutoring program is neither what it says academically or emotionally. All the administration does is a lot of talk. In fact, they talk so much their egos have them convinced they are superior to anything else outside of their school. With all their talk they get nothing accomplished. The way they teach does not translate into another school program. The children will never be able to follow. So, you are forced to relearn everything or stay there. Get out as soon as soon as you can. In fact, run from this place. They also do not know how to handle normal childhood problems that arise. They have young teachers with no experience.
