We choose WMS due to the success of the program as proven over the years. I wanted my child to love to learn, to know how to learn and to be able to learn at their own pace . What impressed me was the wealth of materials, the respect for the student , the importance of self accountability and learning how to work in a group environment. My boys had no problem transitioning into the local Public Middle and High Schools and were active in extracurricular programs at the schools. They have always said their time at WMS well prepared them for college and as active members of the local community.

My boy completed nine years at Montessori about a year ago. My girl will enter her seventh year at the same Montessori this month. I could not be more pleased with the school. Kids learn, for sure. But, more importantly, kids are taught to think. It is a wonderful environment -- for learning and growing. Nearly as important as academics is to me as a parent, safety is also very important. I feel very comfortable dropping kids off at 8 am, picking them up at 4:30 pm, and knowing they are happy, protected and taken care of for that time. By the way, my boy transitioned to a private middle school after "ageing out" of Montessori. His grades: all A's and one B for the entire year.

We've had two children attend WMS since the age of 4. The oldest is now in junior high school and the youngest is now entering 6th grade - her last year at WMS. :( With nearly 10 years experience, we can honestly say that this school has been excellent. Over the years, both of our children have developed advanced social skills, above average academic performance, and both have a true love of learning. We were hoping the school would expand to include a junior high school curriculum but it didn't happen. Luckily, the transition to a public junior high school was virtually seamless. The ability of our oldest child to be self-driven, independent, and a responsible and respectful young adult was largely influenced by her experience at WMS. By far, the best investment in our children's future so far!

I had 2 kids attend Woodland Montessori (PK-6th), as an aveage student myself, I can appeciate the foundation my kids were given. Good teachers and a good program have help both kids excell at traditional school. They're both ravonous readers. Both kids are polite ,honest, and considerate people and I attribute a lot of it to the school. The one drawback I can think of is, it's a small school, and both kids were a bit overwelmed with the size of a trditional school. Being from such a small school and having a small group of friends that they both had for so long, they had some difficulty socializing. Mainly because everybody was new. I'm glad they attended, and I wouldn't change anything.

If you wish for your child to truly love learning, then WMS is the place. Both of my children have been through the Primary and Elementary programs, and I have been completely satisfied. In public schools, the constant reforms focus on numbers, math & science, children as measurements. WMS is an International (AMI) Montessori School (not all Montessori schools are alike - do your research), which really does focus on the child. Parents are fully supported and expected to be actively involved in the school. The teachers are professional, the administration receptive and responsive. This is an investment that will last a lifetime.

Both of my children when to WMS, and though they went on to some really good schools for Jr. High and High School, we consider WMS to be the best school that they ever attended. In fact, we think that having had our children go to WMS gave them a tremendous head start and a foundation for learning that is with them to this day. Teachers are always telling us that our children are the most willing to talk in class, most involved, and strongest leaders in their classes. Analyzing things is a learned skill, not an innate trait. My children received this training at WMS. Few other children seem to have good analytical skills these days. I can't recommend WMS highly enough. It's the best thing about Woodland. If you can get your child into the school, you should definitely send them there.

This school allows my children to learn at their own pace and empowers them to learn on their own.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
