I am very disappointed with this school on almost all levels. In the year and a half that my child has been enrolled, he has actually lost abilities. The principal seems more worried about the remodeling than his students, and some teachers just seem to be there for a paycheck, nothing more than glorified babysitters. They have forced me to pull my child from classes and open enroll him in another school.
This school offers excellent learning opportunities for the children in the surrounding community, including an After School Program that offers assistance with math and reading. The teachers and staff are respectful, and the principal does a good job. Thank you, Yucca Valley Elementary School.
This is a school of hardworking, caring people that often deal with difficult situations and students with varying educational needs. All four of my children have attended there and have received an outstanding education; leading them to high academic achievement in Jr. High, High School, and now College.
Leadership seems to be in the front office. Liscipline schoolwide. Parents are not treated with respect. Too many students in the office at all times of the day.
Poor leadership and parent involvement. Academics are poor which I believe is due to a lack of interest by the teachers. Student run parent conferences are a joke. The teachers need to step up and communicate with the parents and at least 'act' like they care. Showing favortism is completely unacceptable.
I was very disappointed this last year with my son's education. His teacher did not communicate with us when my son did not turn in school work. I also ran into a problem with the school district not returning phone calls.
I am not happy with the school principal. I think that the school grounds are unkept, and overgrown.
Not the worst or greatest school. I guess that you could call it mediocre. A few teachers are very caring, but there are just as many that are very oddball.
A lot of the staff is friendly but very lacking in noticing problems which need to be addressed. The academics are behind. I beleive the same can be said for the whole district. Parents are encouraged to participate. Any school encourages help from the families. Not many sports or extracurricular activities for kids to join. The town has some however. The drop off and pick-up system is not only a mess but it is potentially dangerous.
I am a former student of Yucca Valley Elementary school. I attended it from K-5th grades. I absolutely loved learning there and I loved the environment. If I had children of my own, I would definately enroll them in this school.
