There is a lack of leadership in this school. I was treated rudely by the administration. I also noticed that there were big class sizes and no para in the room. I thought a charter school would have smaller class sizes.

This school has taught me soo many things. Compared to kids from the other schools i think we've been taught very well. Although i think they should chillax sometimes,their discipline is good.

there is an obvious lack of leadership. no one is on the same page . Try visiting your own child and you will be turned away.

Parents are very involved which is great...but the staff does not seem to appreciate the parents that are involved. Many teachers seem to be very unprofessional and rude. I would definitely not suggest this school to any family. when you want to observe what is going on in the classroom when your child is unhappy That is a big NO NO ..... I would never refer anyone to this school ever

This is my children's first year here and I am so pleased with both the curriculum and the professional staff. I've noticed the attention and focus emphasized on their education and they make every occasion special with fun activities for the kids. I feel so blessed to have found a school with both a great elementary and middle school and would highly recommend it.

So far my experience has been wonderful. The teachers seem to love what they are doing and its apparent the atmosphere is positive for both them and the students. My child has gained a love for learning that I am sure will stick with him throughout schooling thanks to motivated teachers and a safe, disciplined environment. I especially love the open door policy for parents. I feel welcome as a key player in educating my child.

I love this school. My first grader loves school and wants to go even when he's sick. His teacher is great and I am very happy I put him in this school. My son is learning so much. O also loved all the opportunities to be involved as a parent. Keep up the good work.

I am very impressed with the school so far. I have a five year old enrolled in kindergarten at Aurora Academy. My daughter she displays enthusiasm and she talks about something new everyday that she learned in school. I am very pleased with how the parents are involved in fact it is a requirement that every parent volunteer in the school as it helps to build commuinity and reinforce to the children that we are supportive of their education. It is a very special community to be a part of. I also like the fact that all the kids wear uniforms it makes it so much easier on us parents. I rate them a 10 out of 10 for keeping the parents well informed and up to beat on all the latest things happening inside the classroom.

Quality academics combined with an good music/art program makes this school thrive. I would like to once again see some sports programs for the elementary students...maybe now with our new gym! Great parent involvement-requirement is 20 hrs per year for single-parent households, 40 hrs per year for dual-parent families.

I feel this school has come along way from just opening. Every year it has gotten better- my child just told recently that she loves her school and compared to her choices in our district this school rates above average.

Accountability Reports show an average of 16 students per teacher and the average classroom has 27 students per teacher with no assistants. Not happy with this at all. I was under the assumption that the charter schools were supposed to offer a smaller student teacher ratio. Parents are very involved which is great...but the staff does not seem to appreciate the parents that are involved. Many teachers seem to be very unprofessional and rude. I would definitely not suggest this school to any family.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons.
