Profile Completeness

ADVANCED

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

We moved to the area at the beginning of the second semester. The teacher was sweet and I believe that she cared about the kids. There was no school work sent home so that we could see how our son was doing. They had pretty much no homework, and the same spelling test was repeated at least 3 time in the the last half of the year. The front office staff called my son "an inconvenience" and was very rude to us as parents. I was so glad when the year was over and we could get school of choice for the following year. If you have the option, go somewhere else.

I could not be more impressed by the skill, passion, and overall competence of the professionals who work with my child every day. I've seen her grow from someone who was anxious and had a difficult time focusing into a child who is confident and loves to learn. I'm very lucky to have found this diamond in the rough and it has convinced me that test scores tell a very small part of the story of what makes a school great.

I have six children, five of which have attended Cimarron . I hope my youngest ( she is 14 months old ) gets to go there also. I feel that the teachers really do care about my children and take an interest in them as people and not just students. My kids talk about their teachers almost everyday. Cimmarron is a school I love to recommend to other parents new in the neighborhood.

Cimarron staff truly care about the students and the community. I love working here because every day I am astounded and inspired to try and reach out to kids at a higher level because of what I see others doing. As the music teacher, I teach the entire school so I have the distinct honor of working with every single child and I hear such positive, wonderful comments from kids all day about how much they love school. Cimarron is truly a positive, fun, dedicated place to learn!

Over 70% of Cimarron s teachers hold a Master s Degree and have an average of 15 years teaching experience. Every year, teachers complete additional hours of graduate and professional training to stay current with the most recent research-based instructional techniques and curriculum. Teachers participate in weekly PLT (Professional Learning Teams) to plan data-informed instruction. Many of Cimarron s teachers are college professors, grant writers, and award recipients! I am honored to serve as principal of this great school where parents and teachers work together because we believe that IT TAKES A TEAM TO EDUCATE A CHILD!

The Cimarron teachers hold a Math Night and a Literacy Night. All families are invited to attend. Families receive free dinner and participate in workshops and presentation to learn how to support their child's academic success. Children leave with free books and math games. These nights are so informative and require a great deal of time and planning. Thank you teachers for including us parents in the educational programing at Cimarron.

I have been student teaching at Cimarron Elementary for the last two months and I can't even begin to express what an amazing place Cimarron Elementary School is. It is without question that this school has some of the most OUTSTANDING teachers and staff members in the state of Colorado. Teachers at Cimarron are not only highly experienced, but they are the most passionate and welcoming group of professionals that a child could ever ask for. The principal is also dedicated to maintaining a positive atmosphere where teachers and students alike can't wait to come to school every morning. Cimarron is such a positive place that is full of a diverse student population where learning is made fun and children are given many great opportunities. The staff continually strives to improve its instruction by providing after school activities such as math night and literacy night where parents, staff, and students can enjoy learning together as a team. Cimarron is THE BEST elementary experience that any child, parent, or staff member could ever ask for.

Both of my children have attended Cimarron, my 8 year old will be in 4th grade this year and my 14 year attended from 1st grade on. It is a wonderful school and the staff is very supportive. The teachers are very interactive with the students and the principle is truly one of a kind, she is friendly and cares about the students. PRIDE is a wonderful concept that both of my children have taken to both at school and at home. THANK YOU CIMARRON for making the elementary years memorable.

My children have gone to Cimarron for two years. We have loved it. The teachers really care about the kids and the principal is very active with the children also. Excellence is awarded with STAR and PRIDE awards. The teachers (for the most part) have been very concerned with my children and keep things very organized. To encourage summer reading, the library has been open this summer for children to check out books. The only thing I would really like to fix is more parental involvement.
