In response to the last post. I in no way believe that story. Teachers do have a right to rrestrain a child if they are a danger to others, or to themselves. Not one of those teachers would intentionally harm a child. What a ridiculous statement! The kid could have been in an altercation with another child, not uncommon these days for kids.......anywhere!

My opinion of this schools based on the interactions between the dew and the teachers and their students. I have seen pictures that I am appalled at, taken of a student that has learning disabilities, after the teacher and dean " restrained him" it looks like the child was choked and has signs of this behavior by staff members on his neck and face. It is ABSOLUTLY unacceptable for staff members to touch the children in this manner. If school police can be called because there is an issue then that is what should have been done. The school swears they have no idea what happened and the dr. The child was taken to reported this situation. Be careful when you send your child to school, not only do they need to worry about bullying from students, it seems the staff is just setting an example of appalling behavior.

I am a student at Mrachek and I have to say , a lot of these reviews are unfair,and/or inaccurate. Our building may be old, not as good looking as newer schools, but we aren't beneath any other middle school in Aurora. We have teachers who really care for us and our futures. We have accelerated programs that are successful, we have success with our sports {every sport we participate in}. We are a diverse school and our scores here have been improving each year. Positive feedback on our school would help a lot! Don't belittle us! Help build us up!

This is a horrible school for your child(ren) to attend. Don't do it. The teachers don't give out homework on a regular basis. My child has been pulled out of class by an AP to discuss what my child is telling me about her day at school. The boys eat lunch before the gilrs because the are "full of energy". The girls in turn miss out on food, food is warmed over, left overs, and they are asked to eat an area that is dirty. The girls are also asked to clean up after the boys. The teachers as a whole are not leaders. They are busy on the cell phones are recess and the re are fights on a regular basis.

Please parents READ!!! If possible please try to find your child another school to attend. My girls had to go to this school last year after being in Cherry Creek District. I check this site and I was shocked of the reviews. With this being the school for the address I live at, they had to go. Worst chose of my LIFE!!! They have never been in trouble until attending this miss managed school. I am really suprised this school could remain open. I feel really bad for anyones children that have to rely on this schools education. The Principal should be FIRED!!! Disappointed Parent

While there are some teachers trying very hard to make this school work and even some administrators that are responsive to students needs, this school is just too overwhelmed. From fighting, bullying, and threatening students to kids being jumped at lunch to kids having a bad attitude towards the idea of being educated. Add to that parents that don't support, and just a leader that seems kind of lax about the entire situation, this school is just not safe for kids and because it is not safe, it is not educational. Our student went into the school system ahead on some areas and is falling behind in many areas since. I sat in the office one day as a much older 8th grader student became disrespectful to the front office staff (who try to be very nice), he was taller and it was ok that she was smaller and not one male seemed willing to come out and defend her to this kid - can't imagine what the teachers deal with every day. My kid is done I am getting my child out of there asap.

I have gone to mrachek I have to say I did enjoy my self because I had my group of fiends and they where all I hanged out with.I will say that at some times it can be alittle intimidating but I got over that.I also leanred quite a lot of knowlege druring me 3 years there. This will be my last year there and my writing grades went from a PP to a B but it has gone back down to a PP but i was having some problems of mine own. I have to say that doing chior all 3 years keep me going. I am now going to high school in honors biology, geomety and 10th grade math so i say going to Mrachek got me somewhere.

I suffered this school for 3 years and hated every day of it. I learned next to nothing, because the students care about nothing but gossip and strive for attention- good or bad. the teachers are wonderful, but only teach a select few students- the one's who care about school. I help on of the teachers and am disgusted by the behavior the students exhibit. I don't recommend this school and would send my child anywhere but this school.

i'm a 7th grader that goes to mrachek and hate so much. Most of the staff members care about the bad kids more than the good students, the lunch is nasty , and what i dont get is if your in a fight and you dont want to get beat up you cant defend your self. if you want to stay out of trouble than stay out of fights or get beat up. I hate Mrachek!!!!!!!!!!>:p

Do not send you kid to this school if you can. There are to many kids, not enough teachers. The principal is the worst. I have walked in the school and watched him sit around and do nothing while teachers are calling for for help to have students removed. Go on youtube and you will see all the fights. It has taken up to 20 minutes to have students removed from class while being violent. APS needs to start over with this school. To much vilance and not enough leadership.
