Frontier Charter Academy

My kids have been a part of FCA for several years and I believe it is the best school around. Like all schools, they have had challenges over the years - but they have always put the kids first. They offer small class sizes, great teachers and a great principal (not to mention a brand new building). I always know my kids are safe and I am welcomed and encouraged to be a part of their education.

My son has attended FCA for the last 2 years and absolutely loves the environment, the teachers and the principal. The school continues to go through the growing pains of a new small school, frequently hampered by small town politics, but the quality of the teachers keeps the children's education the primary focus.

I have children at Frontier Charter and they are getting a great education. The couple new teachers are amazing, the principal is outstanding, and the entire staff have made the school a great place for my kids to learn.

Great teachers who challenge students to a rigorous curriculum and ensure all students reach their potential. New principal is very approachble! Grandson loves attending here and is receiving a wonderful education!

We have 2 children at Frontier Charter Academy and feel they are getting the best education available. The new principal is really doing a nice job and the children really like him. There are a some exceptional teachers at Frontier.

I think it is important that parents know why CSAP scores are not shown on this site, or published by the state on school report cards. Frontier is a very small school. While we are extremely proud of our scores, the state will not publish scores for schools this small. Therefore, neither can FCA. I can say that FCA is way above average. If you have any questions regarding our CSAP scores, please call the school at 719-347-3156. The staff will answer all of your questions, and are proud to do so. As the parent of a child at FCA, I cannot think of any school I would rather have my child attend. The small family atmosphere makes the most difference. Students needs are met on an individual basis, not class basis. Parents concerns are addressed immediately. The entire staff is highly qualified. Our Kids Come First, And It Shows!

Frontier Charter Academy is a fantastic school, they have weathered the storms of Leadership change and have come out on top. They have a fantastic lead teacher who gives her all to the school, the staff and her students. With CSAP scores from last year listing them as Average with significant improvement they are above both the state average and the Calhan school district in their test scores.Next year they will have a talented and gifted program staffed by teachers who have qualifications in talented and gifted instruction, a highly qualified staff and before and after care. Next year they will be a K-6 school but if you are interested in higher grades let them know now! Their Board are always open to suggestions

Frontier Charter Academy is a hidden jewel. My kids have never been happier. I am so impressed. I have found frontiers 4 teachers to be highly qualified. While this site only states how many have a full bachelors, or masters degree, it does not state that 2 more teachers are only a few hours away from their masters degree also. Next year FCA will add two additional teachers. Another with a bachelors degree and well on her way to a masters, and a very highly qualified Kindergarten Teacher. The leadership in this school is top notch. While in the middle of moving to a finer facility, the teachers and staff work as a strong team. The school board is another strong team. In fact one of the best I have ever experienced. The parent participation and loyalty cannot be beat. All in all, frontier is a perfect 10 in my book.
