My children have been at STM for five years now and I have only great things to say about the school! We have had outstanding teachers, my children are getting a great education, and the sense of community is wonderful. After wrestling with the decision about which school to send our kids to, we are so grateful that STM is the perfect spot for our family!
wow...the person that just posted in Jan must live in the land of entitlement. I have three children that attend STM and we've been there for 6 years. The Catholic education was important to us. I believe they are getting a solid education and will be prepared for Regis HS. While there are teachers that have not been my favorite I believe that my children will be better prepared for real life and learn to deal with good and bad teachers. If there is really a problem we have addressed our concerns and on two occasions the teachers have been released. I love the sense of community and the lifelong friends that my children are developing. I find offense to the previous comment and was searching for our parent community and found this so I felt I needed to comment. Thanks :)
This school, out of my 9 years of attendance, only had one great teacher. I felt as if they don't care about whether or not you succeed or not, but only whether or not you give them a good reputation. Because of my experience with this private school, i have decided to attend a publish school. This school left a sour taste on my feelings of private catholic schools.
We have lived in many states, and my son has attended so many different public schools, and this school is a breath of fresh air! Now we know there is a difference in the quality of education, and will never go public again. They attend all the needs of each child and hold each child to the highest academic standards. I am grateful to have my son attend middle school at St. Thomas More.
We too have been somewhat dissapointed with the consistency of the staff. Some teachers are great and others leave a bit to be desired. The School leadership appears to be reluctant to deal with underperforming staff. We have also found from our own experience and from talking with other parents that parental input doesn't appear to be as welcome as we were led to believe. There seems to be a bit of circle the wagons mentality when issues are brought up.
I have been largely disappointed with the Mathmatics education and the consistency of the staff
Our daughter attended STM for 9 years. The combination of our faith and her academics was priceless. There were a few very poor teachers. I'm not sure why they kept them. Overall is was a great experience. She was well prepared for a rigorous curriculum at high school.
We have 2 children enrolled at this school. The 'Blue Ribbon' award in and of itself should be enough to give you an idea of the quality of the school, but as a parent it goes far beyond that. School is always how much you invest in it with your children and for your children. The engagement is outstanding from the churches pastor to the entire school staff. My children are and have been continuously challenged by the curriculum with one child in 7th and the other in 2nd grade. The Extracurricular activities and involvement by both parent and student go far beyond even my expectations. We, as parents are very thankful for this school as it first and foremost preps are children to be successful in high school, but more importantly the ability to assist us as parents in making them successful in life. We are blessed to have this school
