So far my experience at Red Hawk Ridge has been great. The Principal, Mike Wardeman, the teachers and the ILC program are the best I've seen. The school and staff are committed to excellence and I feel very comfortable with my special needs son being there.
First of all the class ratio is incorrect. There are about 25 kids per class. We have had several bad experiences in our second year at the school. The bullying and disrespect students show each other is atrocious. The faculty seems to address it but as a parent, I feel as though I've made to much of a fuss and now I'm being ignored. Our child is not a special needs case however the teacher refuses to work with us to make our child's experience a pleasant one. We feel as though our child is now being singled out by the teacher and that we have no recourse and can only hope that our child will not be forever scarred by this faculty member. I have been told other cherry creek schools are better but this is by far a stain on their reputation. We could not be more disappointed in how the school has handled our situation and we have talked to other parents at other elementary schools and they are horrified.
My little second grader loves RHR. His teachers are very attentive and caring. My son can not wait to get to school every day. Thank you to Ms. Snyder and all the teachers and staff at Red Hawk Ridge.
My daughters have attended Red Hawk Ridge for 2 years now. While I am still getting use to the track school, I have to say I love it here. The staff is extremely kind and enthusiastic. Front office ladies are nice (extremely important) and my kids teachers are phenomenal. If you have any concerns they are right there responding promptly and take an interest in the kids. I am so pleased with the education they are getting and the small class sizes. I think this is a great school!
Every person in the school really couldn't care less about anything except their pay check at the end of the day. Avoid this school at all costs.
The faculty truly care about all the students and have implemented some wonderful new programs to keep school fun and exciting! They have great facilities and great educators. I love that the student body is so culturally diverse and that it is celebrated! I'm in the school and the classrooms all the time, and the kids are always happy!
This school is pretty much a waste of your kids time, I wasn't sure about the reviews I saw comparing thier kindergarten program to most preschools until I saw it with my own eyes. The teacher had my son working on subject matter that my son learned in preschool. No control over the class and tons of busy work. They live up to the low standard of public education in colorado.
Great school with super nice teachers and quality education. This school was the first school my daughters attended here in the U.S after moving from another country and they were given all the possible attention/help to help integrate with the U.S education system. My kids studied for two years here before we had to relocate to another state. I would highly recommend this school.
I have a second grader whom has attended this school since kindergarten. My daughter and I both absolutely LOVE this school. Every teacher and school administrator we have come in contact with has been so nice, helpful and respectful. Even the school's principal is approachable and adored by the kids. The before and after school program has been excellent. Also, please note that my child is of mixed race and feels both comfortable and completely accepted at this school. I can't say enough good things about it.
I have a Gifted and Advanced daughter that needed special programs than can fit her needs. RHR has been an incredible experience since she started 1st grade. She love going to school everyday and has not only a busy agenda with her Advanced Classes but also with all the other Clubs options that are offer for all students. The teachers really know how to handle G&A kids, they are all very friendly and I can comunicate with them by email or phone at anytime. The Before/After Care program also rocks. This is a School that really make you feel part of the comunity!
I have two children grow at Red Hawk Ridge. They have excellent programs for reading and writing. There has been a great deal of comfort knowing my kids were attending this school. The principle really has a heart for the kids and is always visiable and has an open door. They are slow to lable which was appeciated when my child had a rough day. The teachers have been amazing and caring. We have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Dougherty (K), Mrs. Mramor (1st), Mrs Barrett (2nd) and Mrs. Estey (2nd). They are all hardworking and really love what they do. We feel really torn about moving but we have to relocate to the East. But I highly recommend this school. It just gets better and better every year! Thanks for you devotion to the next gererations!!!
Safety at dismissal is a real concern. ANYONE could take a child. NO one has ever asked who I am, why am I there, who am I there to pick up, do I have permission to pick up a child, etc.
Have been at this school for 5 years now. Both my children have been very happy here. It's a wonderful environment!
I have 2 children in pre-k here and they have been excellent! Both of my children need extra help and all of the teachers seem to care and love what they do which is so important. We came from DPS which seemed like most of the people did not really care and were there for a check. This school is needs based and not trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. They really tailor the experience based on what your child needs and how they learn best. I rally can't say enough good things about this school and there staff.
IMy son has been at this school for the last 3 years and it has been wonderful. We came from Aurora public school and he was so far behind, but after getting some one on one at Red Hawk Ridge he quickly caught up. I kept thinking about moving but I know it would be hard to leave such a great school, so we are staying here. I can't wait for his brother to start kindergarten there this year.
Amazing school, amazing staff! My daughter is excited everyday to go to school.
im a mom of a 2nd grader who want to another school from k. my child could not read very will.when she want to red hawk ridge for 1st she learned so fast.now she in her room and she reads all the time by herself. she love it!!!!!!!!!! now she is going to be in 2nd grade. i counld not be happyer.
I am the mother of a 1st grader who also attended the school last year. She is a student of Ms. Rubinstein and we could not have asked for a better teacher. We are well informed of what is going on in the class and everything that needs to be done at home to make sure our daughter is on track. I have never had any problem at the school, we have had no problems with the lady at the front desk, she has always been really warm with our daughter and they have conversations all the time.
My daughter is in the 4th grade. The school is still adjusting to the increasing pop.and being new. This year more electives were added:chorus, art club, running club. The special teachers go the extra mile for the kids.We have had very good luck with home teachers. Mrs. Erickson (3rdgrd)and Mrs. Lemoine (4thgrd) were very patient with my daughter who loses interest very fast with school. They kept me in touch with what was going on in class and we had plenty of time to correct any changes before final grades. Principle was very involved with the kids, she was infront of school everyday and always approachable. My only personal issue was with the front desk person. She mismarked my daughter when tardy and I had the district call and ask why my daughter was absent. She is not children friendly! The school is constantly improving and I feel my child is safe.
