I went to Academy Online High School during my sophomore year. For an online school, it was awesome. The teacher-student relationships were fairly strong and the principal was very nice. He and one of the math teachers work at the district 20 building, so it's pretty easy to set up an appointment if necessary. My math teacher even worked with me in-person when I was struggling with some of the course material. It was a good experience overall. The only downside was the lack of social interaction in a traditional school setting, which is no fault of the school's. It's just part of choosing online learning. I would recommend this school to any student who is self-motivated and has decent technological tools at home. The classwork is definitely doable and they give you all the tools you need. As long as you put the effort in, the teachers are very nice and helpful. Most of them will meet you in person if you need one-on-one tutoring. Many of them are also comfortable with having you call, text or even video call them to get help. As long as you have the desire to be successful, this school will be great for you!
