I have two kids who go to this school, and I would pull them in a heart beat if I could. The school is located right in the middle of a gang and drug infested neighborhood. There is a middle and high school about a block away plus a police station about 2 blocks away. The teachers are ok and the principal is great, but the school in general is horrible.
I just wanted to say it seems to me they have a great prinicpal and teachers there, but I think the surroundings of the school are unsafe the middle school kids go over to Alsup at the end of the day and the older kids are swearing and I have witnessed fights in front of the school. No supervision, I won't be sending my kids back.
My child went to Alsup for K and she had the ultimate teacher with Ms. Melvin. They also offer a Bridges program that was awesome! I had my doubts about this school, but it a great school!
