My kids had a very good experience at Cortez Middle School. They recieved a solid education and enjoyed the many different activities/sports that they offer. A friendly atmosphere, caring teachers, and strong academics really helped them in their high school years. CMS rocks! Whoever wrote that this school was not good must be angry at someone!!!
CMS only has 4 day school weeks due to budget cuts, and this greatly affects student learning time. The numerous breaks result in a lackadaisical attitude in both the students and teachers. Though many of the students have positive relationships with their teachers, they aren't receiving a quality education. You can see that this is true when you look at how much the school's test scores fall below the state standards. In an attempt to improve these scores, teachers simply make the work easier, trying to get further in their lessons instead of trying to take the time in making sure students truly understand the material taught to them. Besides the lack of a good education, CMS also falls short in student behavior. The hallways are full of curse words and racist comments. Teachers have stopped trying to end these common exchanges. Many students have no respect for people with different religious or political views and there is nobody to teach them differently. This creates a very negative learning environment. CMS definitely needs some serious changes.
it is a very terrible school the teachers arent teaching the students they give them the work and then they dont know how to do it because they dident get to learn
This scool is so cool! I am in all advanced classes (in 8th grade that's hard) and it's tough but the teachers are always wiklling to stay after school to help you out.
CMS is an awsome school. You learn alot and there are alot of activities like culture club. There is also alot of sports like volleyball, football, track, and, cross country. I enjoy this school the teachers are great and everything is clean. The teachers are always willing to help you. This school is very safe and nice. This school has taught me alot through the 2 years i've been there and I would'nt leave.
This is a wonderful school! The teachers are funny, and very nice. The school is clean, organized, and safe. There are no fights, and the advanced classes aren't super hard, neither are the normal classes. 21st century, where everyone gets a laptop, is great, as the student to teacher ratio isn't a huge number
this is the best school in the usa! im glad i moved to this school. it teaches me all i need to know
Great school. My son is in a class where every student has a laptop provided by the school. (You have to apply for the class.) Before, he was in advanced classes. All of his teacher have been concerned, in contact and easy to work with. Also, the school facilities are well maintained and cheery.
I loved this school! It was awsome!!! The teacher taught me well.
