We are relocating to Denver over the summer. We are somewhat flexible on a location for our new home. We have kids going into 6th grade and 9th grade. They are both currently in the double accelerated math program and the 'gifted' program at their current schools. What would be the best schools for them in the Denver area?
Douglas county schools are great! My youngest son is going into 6th grade and is in the "Discovery" program which is the gifted and talented program at Northridge Elementary. My older son just graduated from Mountain Vista High School which offers tons of AP classes which he took full advantage of and passed all 8 AP exams he took. Thunder Ridge High School offers an IB program which is also very popular. I am a real estate agent in the South Denver area and I would be happy to help answer any questions you may have.78734
Thank you so much for your reply. You must be very proud of your kids! It sounds like you are very happy with their schools. I will look into them. I have heard a lot about Cherry Creek High School. As someone who is familiar with the area, do you think it is as good as everyone says it is? Thank you again.78798
I would concider that in general Littleton , and cherry creek schools or jeffco score way ahead of douglas county both on testing a genral public op. But don't take my word for it the state of Colorado has a great web site with test score conditions ranking and any other statistical info you may want as well as school districts improvement plan. As far as I know the Littleton district is the only Denver metro school dit. that is "distiction" ranked and not on an improvement plan. There are many nice school scattered in w/ mediocrity through out metro Denver. CO also has a very open school choice law. If you can transpo your kids they can go any where. As in most metros the schools with 10 will have the most expensive housing. 78867
