i am a current student and will graduate this year (2013) i strongly advise that students and parents perform much research before choosing to attend this school. This school is not for everyone. i feel that teachers get burnt out very quickly therefore "check out" early in the school year. Of course there are a lot of fewer students in each classroom do not get the help as described on the school website. This school can better improve by becoming accredited, hiring more qualified staff and properly distributing leadership among teachers. i love the outside program, however i feel that much of the programs described on the website are false such as drama and honors credit.

The best school on earth, especially for those outdoor minded kids.

CTA has some of the most outstanding and dedicated teachers I have had the opportunity to learn from, strenuous academics, and drive to help each student excel.

My daughter attended this small school where she learned to write and think and developed her own value system. They do a great job in a beautiful setting.

This has been a great school for our son, who will graduate from CTA this spring. The small classes, qualified teaching staff, caring administration, required physical activities (cross-country skiing, snowboarding, rockclimbing, mountain biking, weightlifting, swimming, etc.), as well as opportunities for overseas travel, have all been a truly wonderful experience for him.

I am a student who attending Colorado Timberline Academy last year, and I have to say to those of you considering have you child attend, it is a great choice. My time spent at CTA were without a doubt some of the best days of my life, and I have never done so well in school. With a small family like environment, it is supportive and a home away from home. The quality of academic programs are excellent. All the teachers are more than qualified to be teaching. CTA is a very active school, there is a requirement of a personal activity per block, and all of the options are great; snowboarding, rockclimbing, cooking, dancing, art...they have it all. If you are concerns about losing the ability to watch over you child and have control over certain activities, then simply let the director of the school know your requests.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
